Hello,

Why in the blue fork would the governor of an English colony in 1492 name a town "James" when there had never been a King of England named James up to that time?

Any English Colony named after the King founded between 1485-1547 would be called "Henry" (Henryton, Henrytown, Henryshire, etc) after either Henry VII, or Henry VIII.

So... do me a favor and replace "Jamestown" in all your mods.

thanks.

:)

Or change the starting date? Or maybe it should be Charlestown, because English King is apparently Charles and stays the same the entire game!

Actually, the English King is George. So shouldn't it be Georgetown? ;)

Perhaps - if you're attached to the game's starting date of 1492. But what about James Stuart, King of England and Ireland from 1603 to 1625? The James River and the settlement of Jamestown (founded in 1607) take their name from him, eh.

The irksome part is that the game starts in 1492, and you certainly don't want to wait for 1607 to found your first colony. But that's just an artifact of the game system.

You'd have to do a Rhye's and Fall of Colonization to get anything close to historical accuracy.

That's not a bad idea....

If it really bugs you that much, you can easily change the starting date. Or, you can name any settlement whatever you want when it is founded. So, this is really much ado about nothing!
