That is so much more efficient than moving the goalposts.

Sing to "I dreamed a dream" - Play as you read...trust me its Hillary-ous:lol:

I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high and life worth living
I dreamed that Reagan would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving

Then I was young and unafraid
And votes were bought and used and wasted
There was no China to be paid
No election un-won, no wine untasted

But "Yes we can!" rang out at night
With their voices loud as thunder
As they tear your hopes apart
And they turn your dreams to shame

Mitt spent a summer by my side
He filled my days with endless wonder
He swept my hopes up in his stride
But he was gone when autumn came

And still I dream he'll come to me
A new Republican to bring us together
But there are dreams that cannot be
For we can't find anyone who's better

I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I'm living
So different now from what it seemed
Now Hillary has killed the dream, I dreamed

Jeb Bush says he'd have invaded Iraq even knowing what we know now

isn't he supposed to be the smart Bush? Maybe none of them is too smart.

and the first words out of his mouth after telling us he'd invade Iraq was "so would Hillary Clinton".

That strikes me as both wrong and less than brave, and unappealing to the base - they get to vote for someone who cites Hillary Clinton in defense of himself.

In the long run, while Jeb can tap into the Bush family connections and fundraising, no amount of money is going to be able to shield him from Dubya "what would you have done" comparisons that he can't seem to deflect with "no I wouldn't have done it that way" responses for some reason.

Good lord, if the election really turns out to be Jeb vs Hillary, 95% of the debate will be on the past rather than the future. :cringe:

It's a no win deal, that if Jeb had any sense he would recognize as he can't run.

If he says he would not have done what shrub did he is acknowledging that following GOP policies did indeed lead to disaster, which is a fact the GOP is desperate to have forgotten. If he says that he would have done the same thing he is acknowledging that he will still follow those same GOP policies, which have remained unchanged. Of course every GOP candidate faces the same problem, just not as squarely.

EDIT: The past is actually where the debate should be, by the way. The classic "I offer you this pie in the sky future," vs "My pie in the sky has sprinkles," has brought nothing but disappointments and disasters. A healthy and realistic "My party's policies have accomplished this," vs "My party's policies have accomplished that," leads to voters choosing between realities rather than pies.

Hillary: "Knowing what I do now, I would cheat on my husband with an intern, and so would Jeb Bush."

I'm disgusted by these Repugs like the Bush crowd blaming "the intelligence". If I was in the CIA I'd want to publicly blast away at these lying scumbags. George Bush, Dick Cheney and their neocon allies cherrypicked intelligence and used foreign sources (cuz our own intel wouldn't corroborate the BS they were trying to sell us) to paint Saddam as a nuclear threat. Jeb threw the same crappola at us, he blamed faulty intelligence too. They're murderers and I imagine they would have been shot for treason 220 years ago.

and Hillary voted for their war so she could run for Prez, voting for either of these people is akin to spitting on the graves of the thousands who died because of them.

Depends on his motive. Invading Iraq after buying a lot of Haliburton stock would be smart. Morally indefensible but smart.

From the Huff Post

Bush has had difficulty distancing himself from his brother's controversial foreign policy legacy, chiefly the Iraq war. On Monday, he fumbled a question about whether he would have authorized the war if he had today's intelligence, responding that he would have. He later claimed to have misheard the question, and then backtracked and refused to give a definitive answer, saying instead that "mistakes were made." At the town hall on Wednesday, he shrugged off further questions about the war by claiming they were "hypotheticals" and "a disservice for a lot of people that sacrificed a lot."

Now he's hiding behind his brother's victims

apparently a student ripped him for blaming ISIS on Obama when it was his brother's disbanding of the Iraqi military

His name underscores the problem that all Republican candidates have. There was no "GWBush's foreign policy." That whole mess was straight from the generic Republican platform foreign policy manual, as written by the same advisory groups that made up Romney's team and will make up the foreign policy team of whoever gets nominated this time around.

The Republican's run on "forget about Bush," but they have done nothing to change one line in the disastrous policies they want to bring back.
