What does any of this have to do with bagels?
What are your thoughts on bagels anyways?
Do you slice them in half, or into four quadrants?
Cream Cheese or Butter?

I haven't made a single personal insult. Critiquing the manner, or lack thereof in which you chose to converse with people isn't a personal attack.

You both really couldn't have done more to prove the point I was trying to make in my OP - That the left is in the situation is it in because they refuse to engage in civil discourse because they have no desire to understand the other half of the population.

I understand the portion of the population that you represent quite well. You come in ranting and throwing tantrums, whine about how unfair it is that you are treated like a child, then get thrown out and consider it proof of how inhospitable whatever place you crashed is. No doubt you have some sort of safe space where you then retreat to, where if I come visiting I am immediately treated to being called names. You aren't some big mystery.

All apples are fruits, but not all fruits are apples. Hypothesis and opinions are like this in your context.

That analogy doesn't suddenly create a moral distinction between stating a hypothesis and stating an opinion.

What do voters want?

Well that's a little vague don't you think?

But generally from what I see, conservatives like a stable predictable environment with minimal outside interference in their everyday lives and liberals want social change and government intervention to balance out what they perceive to be injustices.

So really your concern is that liberals don't want what conservatives want, and you think this is somehow a problem for liberals?

No. I've quite clearly stated the vast majority of liberals do not understand half of the voters and have no desire to understand or converse with them, so it's no wonder that they have no idea what voters want.

Wow this thread started 2 weeks ago and is already up to 26 pages?? I want in... whatcha'll talkin about? Time to start reading...
It's about Bagels, Obviously!
*And the Creamy-Creamy-Creamy-Creamy-Creamy-Creamy-Cream, Cheese!

Aside from the fact I haven’t much stake in this fight... are you then claiming that conservatives have an idea what the “other half” of voters (liberals) want? Somehow a better one than liberals have of conservatives?

Most conservatives are quite aware of what liberals believe. They just don't agree, or they think what liberals want to accomplish is impractical for reasons x, y, z.

I guarantee that liberals are at least as aware of what conservatives believe as vice versa.

Conservatives do seem to be generally aware of what liberals believe. They just don't seem to have the empathy to understand why.

When liberals accuse people like Jordan Peterson who isn't even a conservative of being a far-right extremist, or a Nazi I find that very hard to believe.

1. Liberals don’t. I do.
2. Peterson is demonstrably far-right.
3. Conservatives NEVER label their opposition with extremist terms, do they? Like Obama and Hillary communists...

They have plenty of empathy. Liberals just often do this weird thing where they assume that if you don't agree with their ideology (the one that they haven't persuaded you into believing) then you must not have any empathy because they're telling you people are suffering for reasons x, y, z, which hasn't been proven (at least for the reasons you're claiming) and have nothing to do with you.

I really don't see what any of this has to do with anything. It's very rhetorical.

In the spirit of open, good faith debate, and of trying to drag this thread back to somethinglike the OP, I'm going to post the following link to the New York Review of Books,

Jordan Peterson & Fascist Mysticism

It's pretty interesting, and takes a more interesting look at the fellow-feeling between Peterson and the alt-right than trying to the thread the line between his comments on IQ and his weird lobster analogies than whatever's on the frontpage of Breitbart.

He hung this up in his house. How much of a fascist can he possibly be?

iu

Like seriously people.

He addressed it in his interview with H3. He said he likes “totalitarian art”.

So, a pretty big fascist.
