Kal-el's Unit Concept Sketches

That won't be necessary, gentlemen... this unit has already been rendered.

Still, if some new unit creator feels up to it, I don't think we should discourage him :)
The more the merrier I always say! :D

Indeed, I just didn't want anyone to think that it was a priority to get one out.

This model does give a cool new weapon and a shield that can be used for something else.

The body doesn't particularly work for historical scenarios/mods since it's clearly not a human body.

For that reason, if anyone would like to make another unit with the Anubis helmet, I suggest PMing me instead because I've already extracted that particular headgear from that Anubis model for my unit.

Well, the COLOR is the least of the concerns. You can very easily change the color in Poser, or at least in Adobe.

What I'm more concerned about is the paws for feet... :p

yeah, he's just wearing a pair of these:

LOL. I know, he has big feet. I was thinking about creating a small feet morph-would be easy enough to do with anim8r. But no need, since DP has already done a nice job of merging the head with the mask.

that would be sarcasm. can't think of too many serious warriors whoh are gonna wear their fuzzy slippers into battle. Maybe in a bad dream, sort of like going to school in just your underwear. :D

Future plans coincide with Dom Pedro II’s flavor unit project. I am going to concentrate on drawing flavor concepts for the ancient to medieval period, basically from Settlers and Workers to Pikemen and Arquebusiers (Musketmen).

I'd like to see you work on the Arquebusiers. I think that Civ artwork for musket units of all varieties is fairly crappy (especially the ones in the Napoleonic Conquest), it could use some improving.

Nice sketches.

I don't think at civ scale that much attention would be paid to footwear...but I digress. I think I just like the model's color scheme to be honest.

Does the anubis knight part of the EG line?

Hmmm.. looks liek you've been hit with the Americian Education systems! Your sentance makes NO Sence!

But I think the answer is yes. I think

I hope your still into Civ when you get back

Yeah, don't go off on us and confuse a more compelling abstraction of reality for the real thing :mischief: (I blame quasi-Zen-like statements like that on an episode in college when I came across a group of people, each holding one hand out, slapping their fingers against their palms -- the "sound of one hand clapping" ...)

-Om, uh, I mean, Oz :D

Here's a piece I did in high school. (I didn't date it for some reason so I am guessing this is about twelve years old) I was working as an intern for the local newspaper and this was for an article about role-playing games. The original was rather large so I had to scan it in in four parts. You can see the inspiration for a couple of my later works here and there are a couple of other characters here that might be interesting units.
