NASAROG
Prince
I watched, and fell asleep twice. I understood maybe 60% of what they said, and it was dull. I tried to watch it again, and fell asleep a second time. Yea, I'll pass.
Same happened to me.I watched, and fell asleep twice.
Meanwhile I'm wondering why they're wasting time researching chemistry when they took Tectonic Scanners and know there are no oil deposits near their capital. I mean, both the laboratory and recycler are nice, but I'm sure there are bigger priorities to research.
I disagree, Chemistry is easily one of the best early econ techs with both a science and a production building.
What other options are better? Genetics - don't need health immediately (though health will be soon once they get the second city out), science is weaker than chem's; Physics - observatory has equal science, but they have no quarries and won't be building sats soon; Engineering - no dire need for energy, unit production bonus is a waste so early. As for leaf techs, none are relevant to the game yet: there's no need for Geophysics (they can see geothermal, they know there's none in the cap), embarkation (still exploring the land, don't want explorers to be eaten while embarked), or Alien Bio (not much miasma in cap).
I think the first three techs they chose are all good for the very early game, they cover everything: ultrasonic fence, +prod, +food, +sci, trade, and expansion. I expect we'll see some combination of these become the norm, so I think it's a great choice. Next will be Genetics I expect.
I guess I'm not familiar enough with the game to start calling them on their choices (which is only to be expected because it hasn't come out yet).
That's one interpretation, but not what came to my mind. And they coined the ulimative insult: Hügelparker (one that does not have the guts to move the explorer to less defendable terrain: parking on hills).
I've found the secret!

Hey Seek, I know this is OT but what sort of player are you using that allows you to alter the speed of the videos? Thanks.
I usually use flash, but when I want to speed up the vids I use html5 (opt in with YouTube settings, I think.)
Double speed seriously makes these videos less arduous.
And while I enjoy the vids and the effort put into them, it is hard to believe that these amiable slowpokes come from the same crowd who invented "blitzkrieg."![]()
yes, lull yourself into a false sense of security! Its not like a Blitzkrieg would have to be well planned and diligently executed to be effective. Nothing to fear here, we're all just amiable "Hügelparkers".![]()
