Korea

tsoi was born and raised in russia. His distant korean roots doesnt make him korean. By that logic, every American artist is to be considered from another country and thus theyre not ethnic americans but rather some other culture should be thanked for their art.
Also Tsoi's music is russian, not korean. I doubt he even speaks korean. Thus, he is a russian symbol not a korean one thus his talent should be attributed to russia.

and yes, he is one of the greatest. his music still da best. hes like the elvis presley of russia except we still listen to his music while elvis presey's is dead

Extremely informative and interesting, do you have any Asian roots yourself :) ?

Yes!

Do you deliberately spell Korea with C, to allude to historical roots?

Yes.

You guys have to try RFC Classical World -- we have proto-Korean and Korean civs there and more tiles for cities! Guess what's Goguryeo UP ;) ?

I'm more interested in reversing Thermopylae and Marathon,
if only to stick it to Frank Miller & Zack Snyder.

Any other questions?

Artyom, do you take pleasure in contesting every single statement people make? Didn't I say "ethnic" Korean? Genes are important factor when one talks about talent, Pushkin had African genes among others and Lermontov Scottish :p So there, more facts for you to argue about :mischief:

But there is one thing in your speech I need to contest myself: you simply cannot compare rock singer with rock 'n roll singer, even if that singer is King.

Yes, please! What is your gender

This is like the 19th time at least that people have been confused about my gender. I swear I've lost count.
But if it will help one more person set the record straight, I've got XY chromosomes.

and why you never play PBEM with us  ?

I don't play PBEM unfortunately because of my own personal backlog as well as a busy IRL.
I've yet to finish The Last of Us, and I only just picked up Shin Megami Tensei IV a couple days ago.
Also, with no offense intended, I really don't like the rules for the PBEM setups, as I've seen,
although I recognize that the game would be unbalanced if you didn't have them.
I do sincerely hope that you continue to have fun playing them though, Tigranes.

Oh, thanks dude. We could have fights without rules, you know :) And, and, and ... it does not take that much time to actually play 1 turn a day against human opponents. Posting on this forum can be much more tiresome process and you sometimes want to test if all the familiar characters from here can actually walk as tough as they talk :spank:

But seriously, I never understood, why don't all the players gradually graduate to MP from SP? I mean, after 4-5 years, what satisfaction can you still possibly feel about beating poor AI, which has to be given modifier -3 so it would not settle on Pigs?

The Last of Us is so good though! Definitely GOTY.

Back to Corea though.

I suggested this before, but I think it may have been overlooked.

The assets for the Cheomseongdae already exist as well.
Corea could benefit from a Wonder for it.

Also, I cannot stress this more, but Corea NEEDS to start off as CONFUCIAN, not Buddhist.
Confucianism has been more instrumental in the development of Corean culture than Buddhism has ever been.
The old reasoning for Buddhist Corea from the start was that Confucianism would gradually spread into it;
but Corea never switches to Confucianism, which at times in Corea, was far more dogmatic and extreme than Confucianism in China.

I read that Korea wasn't really government Confucian until after it respawned from Mongolia.

Forgot to address this.

I've played MP before, but I'm more comfortable with Civ5 MP.
I don't consider myself a good vanilla BtS player;
I only play Monarch/Emperor difficulty,
and have some trouble attempting Immortal.
So, safe to say, I know my own limits.

Is it possible to create UHV somewhat like "makes every capital city of East Asian country have 5% Korean culture" ? because I think there's no historical basis sort of Korea flipping Japan or China city, not even close to.

The problem is that is that the goal is dependent on the location of the AI's capital. If the capital is at Beijing and Kyoto, then it could be possible. If it's at Tokyo or Xian, then you're screwed.

Maybe, something about building the Pop culture wonder and makes every East Asian civ have at least 1 Pop culture resource? Iirc Pop culture resources can be obtained by building Hollywood.. or Graceland now?

I don't understand why everyone is so determined to give Korea a modern UHV goal.

Becaaaaaaaaause... we are all secretly a K-Pop lover inside! :joke:

Korea spawns before 600AD. The only other civ that does that AND has a modern goal is Japan, whose UHV competes (mostly) with England and Prussia. Perhaps they could have an old Roman UHV: "Never lose a city before X AD" perhaps. With territorial expansion required by the religious goal, it might be interesting here.
