Large Mafia Game: Highway to Hell [In Play]

vote:bandwagon

Spoiler :
random.org says: vote:NarutoAvatarDBZ
Random.org tells me to vote for NarutoAvatarDBZ
Two posts four minutes apart, one lampshading on the other. Scummy, scummy, scummy.

Takhisis how dare you steal my choxorn vote?!!!
lolwut? now you tie me and Mr. NarutoAvatarDBZ for first place…
That is just so scummy right there. At least you could have had the guts to go random, but no, you voted the best for you and not the town.
He could easily have cut the conflagration short, which he didn't, so yeah, it's more than just a bit scummy.

btw who says you're best for the town? Your aura of scumminess is baaaad.

classical_hero is a preferred candidate out of the ones available.

I can only agree

Vote: Xpl, one of the classical_hero bandwagoners. Cos, this is getting out of hand (and I was gonna vote for someone I hadn't seen before anyway. So hi!

So by your reasoning I should have voted for Magnive over you...not seeing this at all since without moving a finger I have three votes on me. You seem to be saying that I should accept my fate if I'm a townie because if one of them has to be lynched than it might as well be me. But the problem is I have no reason to suspect you are not scum, irregardless of you being a bandwagon target.

As much as I find Zack's lack of response to my accusation disturbing (what evil plot is he concocting?), I think it'd be best to go for, say, NedimNapoleon. I, for one, thing explaining your vote as being the result of random.org is pretty scummy. I mean, it's day one! Of course it's random, you don't have to tell anybody. Even worse that he could've had an actual reason; Xpl was 3rd on the c_h bandwagon.

What does anyone have to go on, on the first day? Nothing, which is why it is best left up to the RNG to decide.

OOT:
I am still searching for 7 players in my small Maifa game Small Town Story. Please sign up!

So if your philosophy is to kill someone you've never met the moment you've met them, this is going to be one interesting experience.

But no really, I actually did go random.

There is a custom of welcoming new players by voting for them day one...
I was welcomed by a vote also.

I do not know if you are new player, but I believe Robbiecon was thinking that you are

I think it's lame to "welcome" new players that way.

I prefer to get them involved with the group. They don't become fair game until about halfway through a game, IMO. Gives them a chance to possibly vote a scum dead, or use their investigative powers if they were randomly blessed with some. Dying right away blows.

If it will result in actually lynching someone new without any other reason, I would surely change my vote.
I feel that it is nice welcome. When I was at my first game here, someone (Takhisis maybe?) welcomed me in this fashion and it was really nice IMHO. (it was a sign that I was noticed)

But you are right, OTOH, that we should give new players a little more time, so they can 'feel' the game.

I think that's good actually. Me personally, have been playing mafia for nearly 2 years now and I enjoy playing in new communities.
I've hosted a few games as well, and I find members new to the game tend to not do much unless they have a power role. It's sort of sad really that everyone sort of expect the killing roles in a way.

The key to enjoying these games is knowing what to do even when you're totally powerless.

I enjoy those roles the most, sometimes. No pressure, and I can play a game of trying to get the mafia to murder me. If I die, someone else with a more powerful role will live. So the game is to be as annoying and threatening to the scums as possible, or, trick them into thinking I am powerful.

I've also revealed myself to be a detective and claimed someone was guilty once. I wasn't a detective, and they were guilty. I was murdered swiftly thereafter.

And I had a blast.

Just to clarify, there is no minimum number of votes required for someone to be lynched today. About 6.5 hours remain (round ends at 7:00 PM CST, which I believe is 24:00 GMT)
