MobBoss
Off-Topic Overlord
This is all over the news as I type it up. http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/04/obama-explains.html apparently he said:
Is it just me or does anyone else see that he is labeling people in small towns in Pennsylvania and in other small Midwest towns as bigots who cling to guns and religion and are anti-immigrant racists merely because they are bitter on how the Clintons and Bush's have treated them for the last 20 years?
Secondly, the next obvious question is whats wrong with clinging to religion? Whats wrong with guns? Or are people who cling to both of those simply crazy rednecks who dont know any better?
Wow. Simply wow.
By all means discuss.
"You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them," Obama said. "And they fell through the Clinton Administration, and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
