LCD display resolution problems

I'm playing c3c on my new laptop, and the automatic resizing of the screen resolution causes some problems; mainly the F1 (and only the F1 :confused: ) text is totally blurred and lilac, and everything is a little to 'flat'.

It still is playable without being a pain, but I remember to have read some tweaks to the .ini file allowing a windowed mode, thus allowing a proper width:height ratio.

Also, what's the correct syntax to skip the opening movie?

Thanx

Hi Doc,
the line you need is:
PlayIntro=0

If you're haveing problems with the resolution changing then try:
KeepRes=1

Finally if you want to speed up the inter-turn in the late game then:
NoAIPAtrol=1

Just add the appropriate lines to conquests.ini :)

Along the same lines, would you happen to know if Civ3 is playable at 1280x1024 resolution assuming KeepRes=1 is in the .ini file? (I just got a new 19" LCD monitor)

Yes, you can play at any resolution as long as it is 1024*786 or bigger. Using 1280*1024 is a very common resolution and in fact I use it myself on my 19" screen. The map will be displayed in the higher resolution, and the rest of the special screens (like the advisors and the city screen) will be centered on your monitor and still displayed at 1024*786 pixels because that's how they are designed.
