Thanks. Is a forum upgrade imminent? If not maybe we could just give it a shot until the next upgrade and see how it goes? It can always be removed before the upgrade, but i can't imagine the code for a "like" button being very hard to maintain. If you need help with coding, a lot of people would probably volunteer to help. I know i would.
Hey! A non-negative response from a moderator!Thanks.
A limited number of votes per day would be an even cooler addition.

I'm not what limiting the number of votes per day would accomplish, since you can only vote once per post, and can't give negative votes.
Good point. If we ignore technical considerations, it would be cool if each previous vote was "diluted" by each subsequent vote. That was a complicated way of saying: each vote you make is divided by the number of votes you've made today, so if you make 10 votes, each vote is worth 0.1 points. Maybe multiply the whole thing by 5 or something, and cap each vote by 1, so that the first 5 votes are worth 1 point, and each subsequent vote that day diminishes all votes to 5/n.
But obviously there's no mod for that![]()
I don't have access to install hacks. I can frig with some minor template changes....Ainwood - if it was possible and easy to implement, would you be in favour?
Actually I mean that all votes cast during that day, including ones previously cast, would be diluted by new votes past the 5th vote. So it goes:The main effect would be that your early votes (of the day) would have more value than later votes. Such a system could be mimicked by allowed a person to use more than one of their (limited) votes per post
