LINES-World of Magic

Okay, that's fine.

I sent scouts through the Panama canal-- did I make any new contacts?

To Hyperborea

Yes, we would. Let's do it!

Nice update, but wasn't I supposed to take over the other half of Tarsus as well? IMHO its rather silly for it to remain divided like that, considering that my troops didn't even have to go far to secure all of the city...

The map borders are fine IMO.

Let's see - I should have begun 3 trade routes this turn - Hawaii, Songhai and Abyssinia. Are all of them too long for the map?

Iggy - what do I now know about Karthage's army distribution/position (as of the update)?
Also, Cleric's project should now be "50 000 people" due to the renumeration.
And I did give Iron Age to my allies.

Illyria: Please continue the war with Karthage. They are like a firework, shining brightly at the moment, but they will be extinguished momentarily, if only we apply a little more pressure.

Gorin: Are you content? We would be glad if you pressed the assault yet a little while longer!

Well yeah I guess,I'm still annoyed geomancer can do almost anything and I casted temporary maddnes ow how scary wooo.

Please answer PM Iggy....thank you.

@Iggy: How many Archmages died?

From: Vol'Kiss
To: Hawaii

We thank you, brothers, for this pact. Woe be those who flaunt their might! We would like to ask you if we may be allowed to contact those who so valiantly stood by our and your side during the campaign against undeath.

From: Vol'Kiss
To: Kojaro

Greetings! King Tarask of Vol'Kiss has recently settled new lands near your borders. We have begun construction of a harbour, and now propose trade between our two civilizations.

OOC: Yeah, jalapeno, sounds imperious enough ;)

EDIT OOC: Gee, my avatar/user title do not fit into this NES. Well, I ain't changing 'em yet, though.

@Cleric: ;) Everything has it's uses.. I guess that big boom was my story bonus?

Well, it seems like stories are the only thing that will save the day now! ;)

South Italy
"Battalion Eight, reinforce Battalion Two!" shouted Lord-General Rendot. He waved a signal flag showing the same message, which was relayed by a lookout chain. Men scurried to obey his orders, hundreds of them running to the western frontier of the battle they were fighting.
"Karthaginian forces moving north!" came the cry from the lookout in the nearest tower.
There was a loud crack as of thunder. A large golden box, about thirty by twenty feet, appeared in the air next to him. It landed on the ground with a thump, and the left side fell open. Rendot stared, distracted.
"Thank you very much for the transportation," said someone inside the box.
"It was no problem, we are glad to be of service," came the answer. Rendot decided to go and take a look. Stepping to the left, he saw that the box contained four men. Two were mages, probably Hyperborean, operating batteries of highly magical instruments that gave off a slight hummmm. The third was - he recoiled as he saw the rank markings that only one man could possess - Grandmaster Meremmor! The fourth was a Master Warcraftsman, Rendot's superior by a few units of rank.
"Kim, if you will?" Meremmor said courteously.
"Of course," answered the Master Warcraftsman, turning to Rendot. "Lord-General Rendot, pull all your forces back effective immediately!" he bellowed. Rendot's head spun with the sudden violence of the command. "Begin with the eastern peninsula! All forces are to be within the Hyperborean-controlled territories by the end of tomorrow!"
Rendot's arms moved almost involuntarily to obey while he was still contemplating the command. Retreat? But they had almost seized Rome? What reason could there be for this - he swallowed. "What's happened in Karthage?"
"They've risen again. Our allies, Khemri and Abyssinia, were sleeping on watch." Kim spat at the ground. "Meremmor has spoken to the Lord in Green himself. They have a plan that I'm not privy to. We're traveling around to relay the retreat command."
Meanwhile, Meremmor was trundling out a large number of glass spheres that had somehow been hidden away in the small traveling box.
"Livia, Kali, Canute, Valli, Publius, Cynefrid, Caelestis, Svarog, Pontius, Maurus!" As he said each name, the crystals opened, revealing... something. For a moment he thought there was another layer of crystal within, then realized that the distortion was due to the magical beings within. Awakened Ripples.
"These will cover your retreat. I go now to consult with the Lord in Green on the matter of the defense of the southmost peninsula." Meremmor stepped into the box again, closing the wall behind him as he did. "Master Kim will stay with you to oversee the troops." The humming from the golden box rose to a fever pitch, and it disappeared.

"Looks like we get to be in the vanguard." Kim smiled grimly at Rendot. "Now send those Ripples up to the front and pull the men back. The karthaginians should be thrown into... chaos by their appearance. Let them charge.

I think I mentioned that on the first page. It's true, but every necromantic nation except those in the far east are evil to the core.

Well yeah, I have a hard time imagining a nation whose mages are healers

All bow down in fear before the perpetual spoilers! Groan.

Please don't tell me you saw what was in the spoiler pit I posted.

It's not about taste. Highly magical items have to be made out of nonreactive heavy metals, otherwise the vehicle would start going haywire as magical traces from previous uses contaminated it. Also, the only alternative at this time in history is lead.
(The above was complete and utter crap.)

They're spoilers for a reason. If your name isn't on them, ignore them.

Iggy, I'm still waiting for responses to my post ten posts back, mmkay? And have you still got the Mage > UU > Soldiers > Mages system, or has that changed?
