Update 16- 1000 BCE
Hawaii's provincial capitals have been put through a process of beautification. These cities have thus developed into cities with much of the majesty of Hilo, though on a smaller scale. Seeing these cities has convinced Hawaiians in the provinces that the new governmental system is here to stay. The increased power granted to them by the decentralized system is much appreciated.
With Hawaii's help, Dur Veliz has mastered Iron Age technology. Although the all of this help is greatly appreciated, the people are growing annoyed with Hawaii's incessant micromanagement of their domestic affairs.
Hawaiian settlers moving further into Central America have been constantly raided by the natives. Military in the region has so far managed to hold off the barbarians, but are sustaining significant losses.
(-1 thousand Hawaiian infantry)
The Elgovians, who have been so busy off in Europe that they nearly forgot about their own lands, have finally gotten back on track in their expansion through their continent.
But just to the south of their capital, barbarians calling themselves the Disoletemec had emerged. When settlers from Elgovia entered their lands, they mustered an army. They had lost territory to Hawaii, and would in no way lose any more without much bloodshed.
Elgovia moved into the land, and instantly met with a massive attack from the barbarians. To the Elgovians surprise, their enemies had mastered primitive magic, strong enough to dispel several walking ripples. After that, Elgovia was much more cautious, advancing slowly. While territorial gains have slowed, so have the casualty rates.
(-1 thousand Elgovian infantry, -10 Walking Ripples)
The Hyperboreans have completed the Concourse of the Unsetting Sun, providing warp portals for all of their current and future cities. They have returned to Vendalia (North America), but keep their possessions in the Eastern Mediterranean.
The lost horror, a beast unchained by barbarian magic almost a millennia ago, has finally reappeared. Right outside the gates of Na-Uzuldorum. It attacked a large group of infantry in a training exercise. Its powers had grown much larger than a normal Horror during its long stint on earth, and even the skilled Hyperborean soldiers could barely destroy it. Fortunately they did manage to finally kill the monster, though they sustained significant casualties.
(-1 Wild Horror, -1 thousand Hyperborean infantry)
They have established trading posts in the Yucutan and other Disoletemec holdings (Boy, those mesoamericans sure are busy.

), and have been greeted comparitively well, for they have not attempted to steal Disoletemec lands.
On the far side of the world, a Hyperborean expansion expedition has settled on the island of Lanka (OTL Sri Lanka). Their trades with former Abyssinians and other locals have gone well. Their explorations have brought them into contact with nations as far away as Vietnam.
Avalon continues its peacekeeping operations in Germania. A new state-funded education/propaganda system has ended most Germanian resentment to their new government, but rebellion heavy areas still exist all over the southeast of the country.
Avalon and Gorin have decided that Germania must begin breeding what are known as Swarm Owls. These deadly creatures can dominate the skies, and once they are domesticated, they will prove to be a most useful ally.
Expansion into the northern Vendalian islands is also occuring. Though many natives have been violent, most are grateful for the Avalonians gifts, and have accepted their new rulers.
(-1 thousand Avalonian infantry)
Far to the south, they have also begun the colonization of the Amazon. But constant magical echoes of the old evils that once resided there have scared off many settlers.
The Avalonians and Gorin have begun the creation of a joint project, the Tree of Fire. OOC: 8 turns in total, divide it up however you wish.
Ren, the long time leader of Illyria, has been deposed by a rival magi, Seth Dethos. After throwing Ren and his supporters into the soul vortex, Dethos began massing his forces for a final, massive strike against Balaeria and New Atlantis.
At the same time as this, he claimed the island of Sicily, still dangerously close to Azathoth's shadow.
As his massive army of living and dead poured into what remained of Balaeria's mainland possessions, only to find them incinerated and rendered infertile by seawater. There were no Balaerians to be found.
He continued on into New Atlantis, and crushed the weak resistance there. Surprisingly weak. Why?
Because directly to the south, the Songhai army was crushing the remaining New Atlantean forces. All New Atlantis could do to stop the Illyrians in the north was put up rocky barriers up, with occasional ambush golems hidden around them.
As Illyria's smaller army slowly advanced into Iberia, the huge Songhai force ran rampant, capturing almost all of New Atlantis. They are willing to sell all of their Iberian possessions to Illyria for 3 economy points.
New Atlantean citizens in the north have surrendered and swear no rebellions as long as they are not fed into the soul vortex. The New Atlanteans occupied by Songhai are begging not to have their lands sold to Illyria.
(-4 thousand Songhai infantry, -New Atlantis, -2 thousand Illyrian infantry, -1 thousand Illyrian archers)
Temporarily taking the lands of former Karthage, the Khemri swept it for corpses that could be used and other valuables. They found, as an official put it, "Worthless scattered bones and a few trinkets. No intact skeletons whatsoever. What on earth did you do to these people?"
The Abyssinians have regained their trading colony of Tranvacore, lost in the civil war.
Welikoslavia, the great dream of Knyaz Kiy, is collapsing. Its badly weakened army was dealt a crippling blow when Ur launched an attack on the Caucasus region, in which General Barskoy fell. The now leaderless Welikoslavian army was too weak and disorganized to fend off any attacks. They gave ground on every front, and were unable to defend the critical fortress of Bosporu.
Welikoslavia is pleading for help from Illyria. Ur has made a peace offer, but it is currently too exorbitant to be accepted. Yet.
(-3 thousand Welikoslavian infantry, -1 thousand Welikoslavian cavalry, -1 Welikoslavian loyalty, -2 thousand Urrian infantry, -1 thousand Urrian archers, +1 Urrian loyalty)
The Indus have launched a massive attack on the Medes, fearing that the people would soon grow into a threat. The truth is, they already were. The Medes fought desperately, but Indus numbers and magical skill won out in the end.
(-1 thousand Indus infantry, -1 thousand Indus cavalry, - Medes)
The Indus have also started to settle the Tibetan plateau.
The city of Kyoto has once again become a center of commerce for the Japanese Archipelago.
The Vol'Kiss have begun the invasion of the former Kojaran Phillipines. The invasion is going without too much trouble. It seems that the Kojarans just don't really care.
(-1 thousand Vol'Kiss infantry, -10 Vol' Kiss Rangers)
Antarctica has claimed the last unclaimed part of its continent and expanded in Africa. Despite strong attempts, there are already too many trade centers to logically make more.
Sorry the update was late guys. But there it is!
