Great Update Iggy :D

To Island Kingdom of Anarafar, Interior Warlords of Former Nurmafer
From UKKK

We feel that it will be in your best intrest to Declare Allegiance to the UKKK, to protect yourself from threats which you are no longer capable of doing. We will be tolerant of your ways, and religions.

To Skilv'so
From UKKK

If you would be so kind as to look at your borders, you'll note that we are on either side of you. Thus we propose that you become our vassals, thus allowing us to travel from one portion of our Kingdom to another, whilst you will gain protection from any further gorinese attempts to take over your country. Hopefully this will be the beginning of a good, PEACEFULL relationship between our nations.

EDIT: Iggy, Can i take over Nurmafers previous project; Spice Route please? I'll continue that project after I finish my current one :)

King Ptolemy I was followed by none other than; King Ptolemy II, who through a rather unfortunate accident (he never was good at riding horses), resulting in him breaking his neck. He was followed only by a Young King by the name of King Ptolemy the Third....

Anyway, these King of The UKKK had all continued King Ptolemy the firsts policies in regards to religion, after he had personally taught them the vital importance of his plans. Thus during the final years of his reign, you could witness many meetings of priests of Oundainty and Andues harranging each other, as they argued about the seperate merits of their religions.

King Ptolemy's solution to these arguments, which threatened the stability of the UKKK by inflaming the populance, was to begin councils, where the more respectable and learned priests began their OWN arguments. Progress was slow, the Andues Priests, cold, analytic and logical reasoned their arguments in ancient Khemrian Philosophy, developing it onwards in some cases. The Oundainty priests, were...fiery, elemental even, in their faith.

The First breakthrough was experianced under King Ptolemy the First. It was not so much a breakthrough, more a development of Oundainty ideas. They had long considered Emya, the external spirit force, to be dominant over the other Gods. This was soon resolved into Emya being declared the single god, and gradually this idea filtered out from the council to the temples and various places of Oundainty worship. This breakthrough of course prompted some more minor theological issues to be resolved. The Andues priests used this opening and soon levered it open, things however quickly began to stagnate again. This was followed shortly thereafter by the death of King Ptolemy the First.

King Ptolemy the Second, again took minor Kehx noble for a wife, again they worshipped different religions, but they were a happy couple. Up until his death in the accident, they lived happy lives and produced three children. (two males, one female). However upon the Kings death, his wife went into mourning, and retreated to a small temple on Kehoxu.

It was not until King Ptolemy the Third had been established for quite some time that a minor Andues Priest began to research, and talk to the mourning wife. The Priests had lately began to research Oundainty in fairly large numbers, it being a subject close to home, whilst this priest in particular began to form a hypothesis of sorts with regards to the relationship held between the King and Queen.

He finished his works at Alexandria, (which by this point had been rebuilt, and the libraries to a certain extend salvaged). And began to piece together some intresting facts from the histories and development of the Andues faith. His thoughts once published, catapulted him into fame in the Andues circles, which sadly ended when another better known priest, with far more connections simply stole his work and began to work further with it.

The minor priests (his name has sadly been lost in the mists of time) ideas were thus: Nikkal-Rae, was on the surface a single God, scrape the surface however and you found that it was a union according to the old Myths. Additionaly, he took it as symbolic that the Guardian of the Faith; The King had found such happiness his marriage with someone of a different faith. Thus from this (and some rather technical Theological arguments relating to the self, the humans spirit and the fundemental meaning of Marriage), he formed the basis of his argument against Andues. This argument ran thusly:

First.
The Peoples of Khemri are related, originating from the same area in the early Histories, their fate has been intertwined and it is only recently that they have been brought together.
Second.
The Ideas of the early Khemrian Faith took ahold in Tehx. It is only AFTER this event that the development of Oundainty as a seperate religion is seen and takes hold on the isle of Kehx.
Third.
With the development of Khemrian Monotheism; Nikkal-Rae is considered one God, and lately the Oundainty faith has recognised a Goddess as their single god.

Thus when taken together, it was proposed that, the declaration of Khemrian Monotheism had been taken too far. It is in fact a symbiotic relationship (or in less technical terms, marriage :p) of two gods, which in essence ACTS as a single being. With the declaration of a single god however, the Priests of Andues placed emphasis on one single god, Rae, the male element, and relagated the other half, Nikkal to a minor one. Conversly Oundainty the opposite took place, they have a focal point on Nikkal (or in their own faith; Emya), relagating Rae to a minor position.

Thus the conclusion to his arguments was thus; Oundainty and Andues could, nay SHOULD be reunited, entering into a symbiotic relationship, that is, it would be mutually beneficial. With the King and Queen of the UKKK being an excellant symbolic point of the relationship between the religions, and the nations that are tied together.

This of course Cumelated in King Ptolemy the Thirds policy changes that would in effect bring this about.

OOC: I wrote this mostly from an Andues perspective, having not been the author to the Oundainty faith, I feel bad about saying definitivly what it is about, so any mistakes? just assume its the passage of time, plus my councils, altering the faith.

This is fun :D

To: New Veritas
From: Myocaca

You are the most pathetic wretch and excuse for humanbeings I have ever seen. That land is Myocacan, it is holy and it will be rebuilt. There lie the bodies of our first two kings and if you dare take hold of such land we will not let.

To: Lengels
From: Myocaca

You shall never destroy my people. We will not exodus like the other pitiful nations, nor will we bend to your will. We will never stop fighting. The blademaster has spared us this day. Now we have our chance to make things right.

To: Guangfei
From: Myocaca

It grieves us that you to have fallen to the oneist treachury that Veritas represents.

OOC: Iggy what happen to me destroying the emorian cities in my control when the lengels were coming

OOC: What's with those "protectorates/etc" stuff that came to me? I didn't order any expansion...

To New Veritas
From Guangfei

We reject your proposed treaty. Your demanded annexation of our territory is rejected, and your absurd demands for the autonomy of Shangei, which were rejected by them, is also rejected by us. The sinful of New Veritas marches on, and you will be expelled from Tellus, a third time.

To All Non-Church of the One Oneists
From Guangfei

Beware of New Veritas and her words. The Church of the One is but an arm of the State of New Veritas. To welcome the Church of the One, is to welcome the intereference and meddling of the New Veritasian state. The fact that New Veritas has not learned penance, makes the pathetic city of "Redemption" a City of Sin.

“New Veritas will always be a great blight on Guangfei, it is an eternal plague. An infestation on the great whole waiting to erupt. For Veritasians never change, never learn, never do penance. They can only die, and hope to learn in the fires of their hell.” -Minister Ri-che-liu on the establishment of contact with New Veritas in the 32nd Year of Emperor Wu

“Minister, give us strength. You always warned and prophesized about the evil of Veritas, of the heinous Veritasians and their religion. Give us the strength and the will, to destroy and purge the world of them. Use your great will in heaven, as you used it for Guangfei on earth. We shall avenge your ancestors, with the blood of the Assemblum Popularum of New Veritas. We remember you great minister, for you were once and always close to our souls. May the burning of Redemption, Saenium, Paleras, Sintonia, and Trenta be a baptism of fire for them. May your writings bless us, and grant us victory. For the finest strategy is doomed to fail, without an army. Forgive our desecration, and bless our hosts.”

Without another word, the young man raised himself from the floor and signaled to the attendants present. No lowly servants, all members of the aristocracy, went and opened the sealed container filled with the Minister’s greatest passions. Books of war and tactics to be precise, of a nation and land far beyond Guangfei that Veritas had fled from. The country that destroyed Veritas shall aid Guangfei destroy New Veritas. Immortalized at the Battles of Hasko, the Wardash, and Hexki Valley, information was and always had been prize possessions of the wealthy and powerful of Guangfei.

It shall be a total war. All of Guangfei shall fight in this war. From the newborn babe to the elderly sage, they will fight. They will fight for Guangfei, for their ancestry, for their heritage, for their honor, and for their future. Those that betrayed Guangfei, the people of Eastern Shangei, shall pay the ultimate price. They shall be given one more chance, failing that, all shall end. Yes, Minister Ri-che-liu was right. Betrayed once, never to be trusted again.

But they were still to be respected, using tactics and strategies that had made Guangfei great. But they were foolish, foolish barbarians. Culture is what made Guangfei great, and culture is what will save Guangfei. Culture can be knowledge, for from culture, one learns to be curious and know the way of the world. From the Art of War, to simple texts on farming, Guangfei shined. But every nation has their arrow fodder, there is no exception.

Coming footsteps broke his concentration as he hastily remembered he was a guest in another’s tomb. Turning to see the newcomers, he smiled when he saw the young men in front, all friends from childhood. The genuine smile faded into a formal and polite grimace when he saw the people behind them. In unison, the people bowed simultaneously to their Emperor. Their Emperor, their leader, their living semi-deity, the man who would lead them drive back the barbarians.

Another man would have taken pride in the titles, Emperor of Guangfei, Son of Heaven, King of Shangei, and Lord of Zhong Guo. Another man would have been proud to be a member of the Imperial Clan. Another man would have been arrogant towards all around him. The list could go on and on. But he was none of those. His arrogance never had time to grow, seeing his mother die in front of his eyes when he was no more but a lad. His pride had been dissipated, with the taunts and insults of his older cousins, closer to the Throne then he. No, he was different. As the son of a relatively minor Prince, he had been overlooked by politics and under the careful eye of his father he was small tiger cub being raised.

Trained in the arts and skills of all noblemen, his father had great foresight and plans for his son. He himself knew he would not succeed his father, but perhaps his son could become great. Languages, whatever language was known to Guangfei his son would learn. His father went so far as to hire a tutor from Qingdao to teach him the scriptures and writings of the Way of the One. He would never be the strongest or the brightest of the grandsons of Emperor Hu, but he would be the most well educated. In the candlelight shining in the deep of the night, a great mind was forged.

A mind that had once embraced the Oneist faith, now cast aside. He had a twinkle in the eye and a burning fire in the soul, a man for whom others would die for. “Let’s go, the Minister grants us his blessings.”

And as lightning fell from the skies, a man would lead a nation to war and victory, or death in defeat…

To Arcadia, Emor, Exilsium, Norvalin, Klamer, Kerenia, Verta
CC all Oneists of Aryie, Gerber, Guangfei, Lengel, Myocaca
From Tellium

Reorganizing the Oneist faith is a welcome opportunity to renew our commitments to each other as a brotherhood of faith. But let us instead meet in Exilsium, which is centrally located and unlike New Veritas free from any Bladeist influence. Besides the war between New Veritas and Guangfei could make any voyage to Redemption perilous for many of us and imposable for the faithful of Guangfei.

To All Oneists Nations

We shall practice our own kind of Oneism, a bit mixed with the Philosophy of Duality and Balance.

OOC: I'm going to pratice a kind of Taoist Oneism, dont like it? Well you can shuve it.

“Destroy New Veritas, destroy it so utterly that the name Guangfei will make little Veritasian children cry. They deserve no less. Purge them for the glory of the Empire. As long as New Veritas exists, Guangfei can never have the peace of the soul.” – Minister Richeliu

As he listened to the officials in court speak in their low monotony voices, he understood why the Throne was so uncomfortable. Made of hardwood, it was cold and uncomfortable. And yet, not a single Emperor since Gaozu had ever ordered cushioning to be added on. For all the wealth and splendor the Emperors enjoyed, it was a constant reminder of the troubles and problems one faced as an Emperor, you can never truly have a moment of peace. When you finally get comfortable in your seat, something else will hurt.

But his suffering was for the good of Guangfei. He suffered from the power, but the people were safe from making decisions that would ruin the livelihoods of thousands. They were content and happy knowing that decisions were being made with their interests best at heart. And as a man from another universe would say, “The best government in the world is a benevolent monarchy.” A wise saying indeed, for oppression by one, is nothing compared to oppression by many. There is a limit to how much damage one can do, but there are no limits, on what damage many can do.

That is why New Veritas must be purged once more from Tellus. Their abominable government was against Heaven itself. And only by calling upon the aid of the demons were they able to resist the righteous tide. And that was why, Guangfei was the rallying banner of all those who despised New Veritas. The Myocacan ambassador had just finished making a speech denouncing the sinful New Veritasians. The Khemri one stepped up speaking of the Great War with Veritas until eventually they were cast out.

“Great Lord, the Guangfei people are a true and stalwart one. We, the followers of the Blademaster are grateful that we have such friends as you in this hour when the horsemen of Hell ride forth aided and abetted by the treacherous Veritasians. Know that we, Myocaca, had brought down Veritas from her pedestal and brought ruin to their nation. They deserve no mercy, no pity for they shall give none. Purge the world of this menance at least, and all peoples under the great skies shall be forever grateful.”

“We Khemri, as great defenders of the Andues religion and righteous, fought a great war of self defense against the treachery of New Veritas. Thrice, after signing of peace, they broke the peace. They know no bounds, even staging the death of the head of the Church of the One in an attempt to sway opinions away from us. Beware of them, and make their life short.”

Veritas it seems did not make many friends from her existence. Alas, it seemed that it had surrendered itself to the Lengels. A strong and worthy people by all accounts the Lengels were, wise and brilliant enough to lead New Veritas on, like many a beautiful women stringing their suitors on with nothing more then empty promises. Someone unexpectedly at this moment came in the room and prostrated himself. A priest by any sorts, an Oneist Priest and as his eyes came to focus, he recognized the man as his old Oneist teacher.

“Oh Great Majesty, Emperor of Guangfei, the faithful of Valfei once more as always realign their loyalty to the Dragon Throne of Guangfei. We, the Followers of the Way of The One are as always, loyal, and will be eternally loyal, unlike the followers of the Veritasian Church. We have no loyalty but to you, my Emperor. Summon forth your invincible armies and crush the Veritasian barbarians once more.”

We are very sorry about the Venix Incident, and if we had more direct control, it would not have played out. The Venix Incident was due to a misswrite of orders, that is all.

Again, we would like to make it clear we are sorry.

Too much chaos, you didn't get the time to do the job right.

Maybe you should ask the Kehex. They seem to be very good at burning other people's capitals.

Yes you did. Some tribes willingly joined you anyway.

About the timing of the update, it's too late now to get orders for an update this weekend, so I propose that the next update be next weekend. Just imagine that I was on a vacation for the last 3 weeks and this update was an early surprise. :p

Against the West

"Your troops must be disciplined. They must be loyal. And they must be fanatically devoted to a cause that extends beyond themselves. The superiority of the Veritasan Host lies in its ability to cut down thousands of shrieking barbarians."

-Stratikrator Strategius, On War

Prologue:

The Stratikrator's Citadel was one of the most defensible locations in the world. Three massive walls, incredibly thick, were guarded by murder holes, arrow slits and reinforced iron gates. It sat above the city like a roc perching in its nest. It had no frills, no unnecessary bits of design. It was built with the knowledge of what had happened to Veritas, and would ensure that no such thing happened again. And it was being put to use.

The Tower of Command, as it was called, had been seen by many, but entered by few. Rising from the center of the citadel, it achieved a height of nearly 800 feet above sea level, being originally constructed on the hill above the cliffs that rose from the sea. From the Hall of Supremacy at its peak, the view afforded a magnificent sight: The city of Redemption, laid out below like a jewel. The moon shone above the city, as it was night. New Veritas slept.

Hundreds of feet below, a ship pulled into the quay. Three men strode off the ship, walking confidently, brusquely, almost arrogantly. They were the commanders of the Legioni. They were the Host-Lords. The Harbor guards, recognizing their commanders, saluted and unbarred their spears. They passed through the gate, into darkness.

---

Qingdao, Valfei

"Tactica Halenian, where is your commanding officer?"

"My liege, he is dead."

"What, Centrios? How did he die?"

"In the raid, last night. Several hundred 'Feis charged the palisade, and broke through near the camp of the Second Host. We weren't expecting the charge, and I was the only Tactica in the area. My men charged them, with great effect, but the Yellow-skins continued to throw men at us, albeit of poor quality."

"I see. And then?"

"Septilion Centrios had rallied the men in the camp. As all the other Tacticas were in the city supervising the deliveries from the Fleet, he personally led the charge. I believe that he took several crossbow bolts to the head before dying, my liege."

"We have a shortage, then. With the death of Centrios, I am now in command, temporarily. Gregorian and Vandrios are gone, with their staff, to accept the Stratikrate."

"The only question is, which..."

"That is the wisdom of the Council, and not ours, to decide."

Halenian bowed.

"As it should be."

His superior smiled.

"Centrios was a good friend to me. He would have been an excellent Host-Lord. But now that he is dead, the Second Host needs a new third Septilion."

"Sir, it would be unorthodox! I am only twenty."

"Cendrian was twenty when he took his first Septiliate. Panteras was nineteen. Don't lecture me with technicalities. The Legioni promotes on merit, and the fact that you survived the 'Fei attack last night proved my suspicions right. You are an excellent commander. Rise, Septilion Halenian."

He rose.

"I grant you the command of this Septiliate, in the name of the One, and the One's own Stratikrator. Lead with honor, guide with truth, and strive for victory."

"In the One's name, I accept this Septiliate." They were words he had hoped to say for much of his life.

"Good! At the rate they're dying off around here, you'll be Stratikrator in no time." They both laughed.

Halenian was going to suggest that they head off to get something to drink, but then the signature whistling of an arrow barrage...and the accompanying screams as they hit their targets, became clear.

"Bloody hell! We can't get a damn moment's peace around here, can we?"

Both men cursed, and suddenly realized that they were the commanders of the entire army. Obviously, they got moving pretty quickly.

We want to keep good relations but we must for now cease all cutural interactions as our nation's identity has been lost. We are going through a period of cultural isolation to try and rediscover our people's roots. Trade will continue but it will be limited to certain products until we can discover our identity and culute.

In light of Tellium's comments, perhaps meeting in Pax, the city in Exilsium, would be a better idea, to reduce travel time. While Guangfei could never harm any ships under the protection of our navy, we'd rather not risk any accidents.

We wish to restate our protection of Shangei from the aggression of the "Dragon," though the Dragon Throne can't even seem to protect its throne.

Finally, I was wondering when that rebellion would occur. Heh, I guess I should do orders tonight, since I'm leaving tomorrow until next Saturday.

Great update! I shall do diplo, etc, later. Unfortunately, I don't have time for a story...
