LINESII- Into the Darkness

Yeah.. Thats the last NES that realy made me write... oh well.. I'll get to it in the end

I hope so. Maugot will prove interesting in the future. After all, we two are quite similar. I am meat shield for Gorin against the East. You are, against the Lengels, for the rest of us. :p

I suggest we rename the Lengels: the Longols. It's easier to remember, and it sorta fits them, no? :mischief:

Or the Mengels, if they all turn out to be Nazi death doctors. ;)

BTW, can you do as I suggested two, three pages ago? I need to read the peace treaty if I am to sign it. Right now, I am just confused.

Ok, on the Gerber front, Veritas signed the Gorin-Veritas proposed treaty.

For Khemri, Veritas signs the pacifist treaty, which leaves things at current borders and Veritas pays Khemri one eco per turn until it gets parity w/Veritas.

Veritas isn't in a state of war with the Bladeists, but all diplomatic and trade relations are cut off indefinitely.

Was the Gorin-Veritas treaty the last one?

Anyway, peace signed! :D The Gerber war does not concern me. At last I can concentrate on domestic matters!

Dualism:

Dualism is a belief in two gods, one is regarded as the creator and is wholly good and another is evil a corrupter of man. The current gods worshipped by the clans are Bane and Ignatia, but both of these gods mean different things to different clans.

To the Mursaat and Ravnos clans the god Bane represents certain virtues they hold in high regard such as Order, Peace and Justice.
To the Brujah, Gangrel and De’Vir Bane represents Oppression, Destruction and Endless toil.

Ignatia is also viewed differently by the clans to some she to some she is regarded favourably representing Hunting, Nature and Freedom. While to others she is a god of Death, Chaos and Bloodlust.

The two rather different views on the same gods stems from Malkavia’s past, each clan believed in one god and no other, these gods would represent the collective ideals of the clan, the things they held above all else. But Malkavia is not a peaceful place nor are the Malkavians one people, so when the clans went to war they would pray for victory, shout out their gods name in the midst of battle. As the names of other gods began to be known they began to represent everything the clan feared, they become synonymous with evil and wickedness.

Over time as wars destroyed clans and drove the survivors into the protection of another, the clans began to find common ground in their interpretation of the gods until there were only two interpretations left. It should be noted however that Dualism shall not last forever, already a number of people believe in New Eldism that has only one god, but many people find the worship of a foreign god detestable.

The Story of Creation:

I opened my eyes and looked out upon a grey land. The sky was dark, full of black clouds and the light was ashen. Timed seemed to stand still in this barren place and the silence was almost deafening. This strange grey desert stretched as far as I could see, I did not know where I was, and I did not know who I was. Others began to awaken, the murmurs and whispers began building into a chorus of noise, the clouds opened up and the noise died as soon as it had began.

A blinding light shone down upon us, none of us could look upon this pure light without needing to avert our eyes.

“I am the creator, I am Bane! … Look upon Perfection”

I could hear others crying out in pain at their attempts, the light only shone the brighter making the heat in this desert unbearable.

“You are unworthy to look upon me, you have not passed my test”

The light faded, a deafening cry erupted from those gathered here cries for forgiveness, cries for help if only to leave this barren wasteland.
“I am still here my creations, I have a test for you, to see if you are worthy of paradise”

“I have created a world for you to dwell, it is an untamed beast, and I want you to tame it. Build thy cities, monuments and temples, tear down its forest for thy farms, drive its beasts to extinction, Dispense thy justice upon unbelievers, and bring the world to order!”

“If you have strived to accomplish these things in your life, remade the world in your image, then I shall welcome you into paradise.”

He was gone, he had not shown us the way to his world, and so I left. Most stayed praying Bane would grant them passage to the world so they may prove their worth. A few others like me wandered off in different directions, if Bane would not show them the way then they must find it themselves.

But this place was suffocating, with feet as heavy as stones I made my way through the gray dust. Each step raised a cloud of dust; dust as fine as ash, dust that left the taste of ground bones on my tongue.

After what seemed to be an eternity, I came to a river that was like a wound in the barren plain. What sounded like water flowing from a distance was actually murmurs and whispers, or thousands and thousands of voices, babbling, moaning, and calling.

A voice startled me “This is Braga Gor, River of the Damned” A figure in a dark cloak had approached me I tried to speak to him but my words were drowned out by the noise of the damned, but whenever he spoke I could hear him clearly.

“They failed the tests of the gods and followed their own selfish path, now they wait for Gehenna the time of final judgement.”

“Have you come to hear from Ignatia? Are not satisfied with Banes tenets? There is bridge to south, once you are on the other side do not alter your path! You shall find Ignatia, hear what she asks of you, and then decide which deity to follow”

“This is a rare opportunity, most other souls do not have the chance to hear both sides, the unluckiest wander the Ashen Desert for eternity.”

OOC: yeah that was the religion I wanted at the beginning but could never be bothered to write about it

All this peace is great and everything, but how do I know that Khemri won't betray me again? I need some sort of guarantee...

I am sick of taking the largest chunk of losses in the Great War. True, I have (had?) the largest army in the CRA. It's only fair that I suffer the most casualties, proportionally at least. Still, I will not take it anymore. If Kalthy decides to betray once again, I will not aid him, alliance or not. I'd rather break out of the CRA. No, I won't budge on this, Kalthy. I am done with the Great War. Period.

Fair enough. Then again, this could be simply an elaborate ruse to trick me. I need something a bit more substantial, seeing as how you've wanted "peace" before, only to attack me.

I have an idea. To ensure that peace actually does go through without any problems, we will arrange a little trade. Veritas will send the current High Elder to Khemri as a hostage, and Khemri will send King Rhama Khemr V to Veritas as a hostage. Along with their families, as well.

That way, no nation will risk a betrayal.

Counter-proposal, We will exchange Priests as well as the discussion of theological matters this will help ensure that we don't betray each other. (both religions being important to the nation no?)

Although I will have to talk to my priests, they might not like you, I suppose vice versa will also apply.

vampire? you mean the names?
