LizNES5: Or How I Learned To Stop Worrying, And Love The Bomb

To: USMA
From: Ecuador

Thank you for your support of our claim, and understanding of our position. Unfortunately we can not comply with your wish for us to halt our advance into Peru at this time. More than a century of aggression by Peru has required us to take these drastic measures. Measures that we have not come by lightly, I might add.

Then we formally request to hold a mediated peace conference in order to come up with a solution in the future (OOC: After the update). Annexation of a sovereign state is unacceptable, and we hope that you will not resort to such measures.

Perhaps taking what land is rightfully yours near your border, limiting the size of the Peruvian military, and a de-militarized border would suffice?

Peru has ignored or otherwise manipulated international agreements with regards to our borders for more than a century. What would make this time any different? No, we will not stop until the entirety of Peru is under sovereign Ecuadorian control.

Um...maybe a bunch of international troops patrolling the border, and peruvian forces never being more than 1/4th the size of Ecuadors, coupled with no military from either nation within 30 miles of the border, along with a no-fly zone for military craft from either nation?

The USMA will not stand for Ecuador annexing Peru. We are sure that some sort of Agreement could be worked out. Perhaps peru becomes a protectorate of Ecuador?

OOC: Heh Texans as commies...yeah lets see how that goes. :p

Oh and Ecuador take over Peru!!! They are such an eyesore.

We laugh at your so called "no-fly zone", but have the common courtesy to give a counter-message. Any Canadian plane outside Canadian territory will be shot down on sight without prejudice. We hope you will see reason and not risk the lives of your countrymen, and do not wish harm upon your nation. However, if you do not, we will show no mercy.

War Time Speech of New English President Nelson Rockefeller

Yankees, we find ourselves in what might be one of our hardest times in history. This war is our first real war that we have ever fought, but look at our accomplishments! The innocent slaughtering Maritimes are on their breaking point, with most of their industry destroyed. But what would be a simple showing that we don't tolerate the murder of our citizens has apparently been loss to the outside world.

The United States has shown their vileness by breaking Ghent, and yet Britain, who had been steadfast allies, just turned the other cheek. If nations can not respect the documents that they had signed, then what is the point of treaties in the first place? But we have learned something great in this war, a message in which we should never forget. No longer can we believe that a piece of paper can uphold peace, only our guns and tanks can guarantee our continued freedom.

That my friends, is why I'm presented Congress with a bill that will allow us to set quotas for war-time industries. Some of you might call it Socialism. Maybe, but it is either this or for us to lose our freedoms that we cherish so much. We need our industry producing planes and tanks, not televisions or other luxuries. We also need you to help with the war effort. Enlist in the New England Army, Navy, or Air Force, and help our nation show reason to our neighbors. If that is not an option, conserve. Walk instead of driving to places, eat leftovers before cooking a new meal, save fat so we can make gunpowder, turn off the lights and other electrical items when not needed. Everything you can do to help our nation is important and needed, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Goodnight, and Godspeed.

We will stop at nothing short of full annexation. It will be unfortunate if this creates a rift between our two great nations, as we have no quarrel with you and your people.

The president of the USMA hope new England realizes their fighters are outnumbered 7 to 1...so it is laughable that they think they will shoot down ANY planes on sight.

President Andrés Pérez of the United States of Gran Colombia,
To The Confederate Republic of North America,

We wonder at the wisdom of your continued alliance with the Texans. They have previously attacked the Californians without just cause and now have embraced communism. You have shown yourself guided by wisdom and temperance and yet you will underwrite the madness of the Texans by guaranteeing their protection even at the cost of your soldiers' very lives. It is none of our business of course but we wonder at your motivation. We invite you to explain your policy so we can better understand your wisdom.

Kind of obvious reaction, but okay.

But seriously now. You can't keep this up. I am up to your little tricks, you know you are going down, and you want to inflict as much damage as possible before you do go down.

Problem for you is that you were the aggressor, and your people probably disagree with your national government on its actions. Your citizens are not fanatically loyal, and aren't even stubborn.

I mean, come on now, even if the Maritime provinces blew up a ship, that is no reason to invade another nation and start blowing up civilian targets and kill civilians and industry, and also put your own nation's troops at more risk than it should be.

What's the death toll now? Couple of thousand? Couple of tens of thousand? And all for some dozen people inside that merchant vessel of yours? And it was a surprise attack on your behalf, so you can't even hide behind that excuse anymore. If you had at least called the mout diplomatically before you attacked, it would make sense. It's only a matter of time before your people begin to lose faith in your government. Asking people to sacrifice their lives for the government for that cause isn't going to help either.

But oh well. If you dare to attack Maritime Province by air bombers despite my no-fly zone, you should prepare for an Impending Retribution.

New Englanders aren't stubborn?

@Milarqui

You are correct, I have them. This is why I post those things, so everyone makes sure I have them.

(I'm sorry I'm not more active at the moment, I just moved back to my parents house, and am having trouble with their internet... I only have a few minutes on their computer, but, I'll try to get orders in.)

It's okay Thomas. Just do the best you can.

EDIT: I think this is a better system of going about it. With all the people that claimed a nation, and never.. really.. posted again, here is a list of orders that I do have.

Alaska
Ecuador
Gran Colombia
Iberia
Indochina
Japan
USMA
Oregon
Second Turkish Empire
Ukraine

If your nation should be included on this list, contact me.

Orders sent.

The Confederacy is pleased to announce . . .

The Columbus Accords

President James Monroe Forrest, in accordance with negotiations with the Texan authorities and government, hereby dissolve the treaty of alliance with the Republic of Texas, though in a manner that is with the utmost respect and admiration for the Texan people and their government.

The states of Colorado, Oklahoma, and New Mexico, will join the Confederacy, with the full rights and privileges of Confederate citizenship, and the longevity of their culture and ideals. In addition, the state of Texas shall become a protectorate of the Confederacy, with an honorary seat in the Confederate House of Representatives, though they shall exert their own independence in affairs concerning their independence and sovereignty. The remaining areas of the Republic of Texas, consisting of the state of Arizona and of southern Utah, are to be offered to the Republic of California as compensation for the recent state of war between California and Texas.

...I think that the 'Socialist Republic of Texas' may be opposed to that, seeing as those states are under its control...plus seeing as your not involved in any way in hostile action against Texas, why should the CSA get 75% of the land from the war that its not even participating in? If texas is to be annexed, the participants should decide how to divide the country.
