Oh wow, a cancer prognosis based on statistical extrapolation, turns out to be wrong. Halt the presses.

People in this thread should be ashamed for being so naive

It isn't just that the prognosis was wrong, it was that the prognosis was used as a motive for doing certain things.

"The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa."

Oh, and US foreign influence wasn't used to convict someone in an international court for political reasons?

Meghrabi's trial was one of the greatest shams and travesties in legal history.
The CIA was majorly involved in the influence of the trial, and Tony Gauchi was one of the most dodgy witnesses in history.

He was released for political convenience; the understanding that the trial was unduly influenced by outside forces.

Little; 3 months isn't an official figure, and the original document (which I have seen btw) all state he's gonna die.
His incarceration is bloody embarrassing to the scottish government, and there is a lot of controversy regarding Lockerbie in the UK and Europe.

If he is going to live for another 10 years he should carry on his appeal although I think he may have had to drop it as a condition of his release.

Apparently, some dont see it your way since it did indeed fail upon appeal, and hasnt been reversed even unto this day.

No he had to drop his appeal to get released I heard, saves embarrassment for the Scottish legal system I guess.

So Scotland did this for some Oil deal after all? That's my impression. I would have no problem with that if they actually admitted to that. That is less evil than just letting the guy go.

I would be ashamed if I had any scottish heritage in me right now. How can you show your faces around after your country does this? This has to be the lamest thing I have ever seen any 1st world country ever do. Truelly pathetic.

And thanks for the bump, I was going to search for a thread on this when I first saw the 10 years to live news. Maybe I'll keep bumping this thread every so often until he dies.

Someone needs to kick his bucket for him. I mean really, a know terrorist out free, after killing many.

If Megrahi gives so much apoplexy to so many ultraconservatives, may he live a long time.

Unlike his supposed 270 victims. But either way, it is great to see so many ultraconservatives having fits over it. We should give amnesty to more of the people they try to vilify.
