How it Began
Taigonism is based around the scriptures and stories of Taig and how he created the world, man and all things earthly. It is said the first men were created on the site of the capital or Mergon. The world was created and man placed in a safe river valley sheltered from the outside world. The first people there were 26 or 13 men and women. They began from the village of Mergon to spread across the valley that was ment for men and slowly journeyed into the outside world. Mergon is believed to be the spawning point or creation point of man by the god known as Tiag. Through four prophets his message was spread to the nomadic peoples of the valley. The prohphets collected all their visions, stories and beliefs into a single book called the Barson (Meaning Holy Book). This book was the first recorded writings for man in the cradle. Using a strange plant to write on the book took almost to decades to complete but when finished allowed the prophets words and tales to be continued on for generations.
Now as the nomads finally united under the leadership of Lord Piaf Gorschan the people begin to move forward building a great city on the holy site of Mergon to guard the site and keep the first Barson written by the prophets safe within its walls. The One: Pergol the Wise was appointed leader of Taigonism with the responsibility of protecting the first Barson and propagating the religion through the river valley. He is the spiritual leader for he has spent his entire life studying the texts of the Barson and creating services for his followers. Greatly respected and adored by the populace he perhaps holds more power then the lord but uses it wisely for the lord still has a large support in the army.
Religion Description: All followers of Taig believe they placed the first humans in the sheltered river valley to spread across the world. The four prophets wrote the beginning of creation and other major religious events and spiritual guidance in the Barson what is believed to be the first recorded writings of man. The afterlife is a paradise for all if they follow the words of the Barson and live their life by it. The One promises to interpret the words of the Barson for the people since many are illiterate and creates rules for the people to live by based on the Barson.
