Mafia/NOTW Statistics

And, while I'll go with the host on these things most of the time, Zack still has a point that while they weren't actually dead, they couldn't vote or do other living things, and were basically the same as what would generally be considered "dead."

I'll go with what you're saying if you're sure that they have to be really really dead, but do they have to be really really dead?

Note that the difference between "dead" and dead is that the dead can't speak, point fingers, or continue their existence even after the game has ended, whereas the "dead" merely cannot vote during the game itself.

;)

Do what you like. Just telling you Askvaard's preference.

So, what, was there any way for the "dead" to vote or anything after the game within the game ended?

Well, the game within a game didn't end until after the game outside the game ended, so there's really no way to tell.

Did I just blow your mind?

Hmmm, yes, a bit. Vote: Askthepizzaguy for attempting to logic-bomb us.

So should I count them as dead or not? :p

I'll give you the definitive answer: define "dead".
Spoiler :
Seriously, define what a dead player is, as in what does he do and what he doesn't, and include those fitting the definition as dead.

In that game, "dead" meant you could still speak and play, while dead meant you could not.

Therefore, only some were dead, while others were "dead".

Just list the three categories, chox.

Oh, if you absolutely must make everything fit into little boxes, dead and "dead" can be counted as statistically the same, even though they were different in that game.

Nonono. Define "dead". Generally, for the whole of Mafia games. And then you have the ultimate tool to classify everybody between "Alive" and "Dead"

IMO:
Dead: (irreversibly) unable to vote or use any other ability

I agree. If there is a consensus, this definition can be accepted.

I'm fine with that definition. There might be a couple of exceptions (like if a Reviver exists, for instance, or in ATPG's Monty Python game where Pinman could vote while dead), but that's generally what I'd consider dead.

If that's the case, then the "dead" in ATPG's game are also dead. You could still speak, yes, but the dead can do that in many games.
