Mandela Effect

Wait, who changed the title and OP-tied bits of this thread? I am pretty sure that previously it was the Mandala effect (from the sanscrit circle).

Dimensional chasms everywhere :shake:

My brother and I experienced this when we were teen agers.

We were avid fans of the TV show Twilight Zone----we used to watch all the episodes in reruns. My brother even had a book--an "episode" guide providing summaries & cast lineups for every episode. We both used to refer to it frequently.

We were shocked one day when we realized that the show's creator & host was named Rod Serling. We were both positive that his last name was "Sterling".

I'm pretty sure it was Rod Sterling

If reality isn't real, which is what so many fizzisists are saying, then we are remembering stuff that not only isn't real, but could not in reality have ever occurred! Which is good when one considers Trump and New Hampshire.

Holy crap I just realized that bootsoots isn't bootsoots...he's BootStoots.

Does this count?

It would count only if a lot of other people said the same thing as you. That's the deal with the mandela effect, one offs can be easily explained, but a lot of people saying the same thing makes people think that there is something "weird" going on.

Oh so now you are trying to exclude me. Is this what Mandela would have wanted after he died in the 80's? For us to exclude each other?

Memorist.

Collective hallucinations are interesting, though. I wonder what kind of head count is necessary before everyone classifies them as not "weird".

And, a bit tangentially perhaps, I've found this:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mass_hysteria

A convent of nuns began to meow like cats and others followed until all would meow together at a certain time for several hours together. This continued until the surrounding village called soldiers to threaten the nuns to stop their singing

They are interesting. I am reminded of the case of a village somewhere, maybe in France, I can't remember now, at some point in the middle ages, when everybody started dancing and couldn't stop. I think some of them even died because of it.

Found it

That's more bizarre than the Mandela effect.

here I thought you meant BootStoots was BootsToots

You just avoided an humorous jump to the dark side and no matter how you got there, there you are. So Boots, you have proven yourself worthy of the powers vested in you...

:goodjob:

If only all mods made such choices my forum years would have been a lot less eventful and much more pleasant.
