don't use always peace. Always peace is bugged in BTS. I asked alex to fix that in 3.13, but the patch came with no relief from always peace.

Lakes map is good.

is there a no specialist rule for CE? if there is, then i'm going with SE.

Could we pick our leaders? or our we gonna wait a bit for that?

I think the problem is that the AI doesn't understand Always Peace and still builds up a huge military.

and the unit upkeep cost is tremendous with that many units. then the AI get's horribly backwards.

(i won space race ounce in always peace while the ai was still fighting with swords and axes. some mysterious "mace" weapon just go delivered to them at the end )

one idea for MLG 08 could be unrestricted leaders? there are a couple i'd like to try, but i can't play all the options as ounce, but it would be alot easier to see 15 different combinations at a time through a MLG game.

I know MLG6 just started, but I just wanted to get the idea out there and percolating your minds. I'm going to be sponsoring/hosting/viciously, tyrannical despoting MLG7.

Right now, many, many things are up in the air. The only thing i know is that its going to focus on compaing the Specialist and Cottage economies (one is no cottages, the other will be cottagespam), and it'll be on Normal speed.

Level: probably Monarch (but open to discussion)
Map: not sure right now ~ I want something that doesn't favor one or the other ~ maybe a small lakes map??
Victory condition: might leave it open for you to decide.
Variant Rules: always peace? agg Ai (would turn it down to Prince for that)? maybe no tech trading?? i'd like to hear other peoples thoughts on it.

This won't be starting for about a month. Since 6 is starting during the start of Capricorn, look for MLG7 around Aquarius (jan 21 ~ and, if we want to keep doing this, perhaps it should be a monthly or bimonthly thing??)

Will losing be a requirement?

As a variant, might I recommend that SEs can have cottages only in one city, and CEs can run specialists in only one city? It would be more typical of the way the games are really played.

And for a more variant, make the CEers pick Philosophical Civs, and the SEers pick Financial (and no one gets Phi/Fin!).

I'm up for the first part above, though if both were restricted similarly to only cottages, and only farms, it may be better for comparison purposes.

Also, i'm aiming to have 2 players use Liz (Phi/Fin) ~ one w/the CE, one w/SE

Regarding the start time, it's very nice for me - two MLG and six SG is little of an overhead already

Heh - going to be a fun race... Very curious to see how that one turns out.

Tortoise and Hare time I think - you'll be pulling ahead more than 1 turn with all those matured cottages!


As for SE only, I'm happy to go without cottages, up for a farming challenge. Although in a 'normal' SE game, (if it was viable) I'd still probably cottage the capital and make it my mega science/beureucracy city.
