Map Trix

Map Trix 3.6.3

do you have Sukritact's Simple UI Adjustments installed? Map Trix used to override it, but Update 1.2.4 broke it such that my override no longer works.
Nailed it. Thank you. I found the discussion on Sukritact's Simple UI Adjustments after you pointed me there. We're all good now.

some notes on the new lens configuration feature!

first, i can't take credit for the feature itself. it wasn't in the patch notes, but Firaxis just added it in Update 1.2.5 for Hex Grid and Resources. i extended it to work for my decorations too.

currently the mechanism is a little quirky. it doesn't pay attention to which lens you're using, and it always restores changes to the default "None" lens. so if you turn on Roads while you're using the Settler lens, it'll remember that, but when you reload it'll apply that change to the default lens and not the Settler lens. the other big quirk is that it only remembers changes that you make by clicking in the Lens Toggles panel, not hotkeys.

i'd like to make it work for the Commander and Religion lenses too, but that's a much more difficult change. for now, i made it so that Commander and Religion inherit any decorations that you add to the default lens. for example, if you turn on Roads then when you switch to Religion it'll keep the roads.

I am going to preface this report with I am running a lot of mods and something else may be conflicting, but I just wanted to toss this out there in case this is a known issue.

With that said, I seem to have some missing icons in my tooltips:

The majority of tooltip icons seem to be working just fine, and I included two in the above image to show that not everything is missing. I'll also add:
  • I am only running one standalone tooltip mod (yours), but also Sukritact's Simple UI Adjustments (which I believe you have said is compatible)
  • Previously, I was using TCS's tooltip mod and did not experience this issue (but again, it's currently been swapped out for yours)
Unfortunately, the game I am currently playing has a lot of mod dependencies, and so I'm unable to disable a handful of them in order to properly troubleshoot. The missing icons are not affecting my enjoyment, at the moment, so if I need to do further troubleshooting on my end, it's going to be a few days before I attempt to just fire up a new game with minimal mods.
i think i just stumbled across the reason for this. do you change your interface size with UIGlobalScale in the app config files? if so, then this is caused by a rendering glitch in the game engine. it causes some icons to vanish when they fall exactly on the line between two pixels. unfortunately i can't fix the problem, but there's an easy workaround: change the UIGlobalScale by a small amount in either direction.

I am not sure if this concerns the Map Trix mod, but maybe someone can answer this here: When playing as Nepal previously, the tiles were highlighted where you could build a highland power station. In my current game this feature is missing. Can I do something about that?

it's working for me with the current version of Map Trix (see screenshot). overlays like that appear on the fxs-operation-target-layer which is included in the default lens and both of the Map Trix lenses.

are you using any other lens mods, like the Discovery lens? that activates automatically for Recon units (like the Sherpa), and if it's missing the fxs-operation-target-layer then you'll be missing the highlights.

Thank you for the response. It was indeed the conflict with the other mod "Discovery Lens". I had installed that because (in my opinion) the green highlighting of the discoveries for the "normal scouts" is better visible than the little book symbol.
