Chicago was amazing. My husband had such a wonderful birthday and was so happy. I absolutely love it when he's happy.

I'm due in 16 days. I've decided that I'm going to start my maternity leave next week, so this will be my last week of work for several months.

Moderator Action: This thread has been compiled from several others so some of the conversations may appear jumbled. The baby won't mind. :)

I made this chocolate cake yesterday, because I really wanted chocolate cake. And my chocolate cake is the absolute best ever. It's so moist and rich, I got it just right. I couldn't find my icing knife and smoother, but it doesn't really matter since it still tasted just as good.

Funny, I was just thinking that I wished I had some chocolate cake.

That baby need nourishment! Chocolate is excellent nourishment.

Hmmm... 7 minutes between posts.....

HAHA ... that's how long it took me to get up off my seat, waddle over to the counter, take a photo, then waddle back to sit down and post it lol.

Rave today: I'm off work! I won't even be going down to my office, so I'll just be posting occasionally from my phone.

Sarah is going to be here the whole time. So I can sit and watch Mia while Sarah does all the work. She's being such a dear and helping me out too <3

Matt doesn't start his leave until next week (he only has 6 weeks off)

I'm supposed to be due in two days and I don't feel like it's coming. I hope that isn't a bad sign.

A strike perhaps?

Wombs are pretty comfy places; what's not to like about being in one? Lack of oxygen though may get to be a problem.

It's not as if this particular baby has been born before, so there's not really much in the way of guidelines. Let's hope it goes alright.

Have guidelines changed on this? IIRC, babies can be overdue up to two weeks before there are real risks.
Babies are often inconsiderate of their mommas. There are two parts to the birthing equation: first is the start time for which there is a very wide window. Once that gun goes off, the next marker is end time (when the critter is cleaned and swaddled). For many second births the difference between start and end times is much shorter.

@MaryKB Yes, you do want a sooner rather than later start time, but I think a shorter labor and delivery is the best. :)
