Too many, my sock drawer is packed, going 2 weeks without doing laundry empties less than half of it, so I'd estimate about 40 pairs.

I've never lost a sock since I started doing my own laundry.

Grey.

Longer, thicker socks in the winter.

Yes, specific socks for soccer cleats, dress shoes, snowboarding boots and gym shoes. For my regular shoes and boots, I decide depending on warmth.
Where do you put your socks right after you take them off?
Either in my laundry bag, or at night, I'll leave socks out beside my bed to wear to the gym the next morning.

Only if camping in the cold. Wearing socks 24/7 irritates the hair on my feet.

Doesn't happen, I'm always wearing shoes, sandals or slippers, unless I'm barefoot.

Nope, nobody sees my socks. Probably wouldn't bother anyway if it was difficult, socks are cheap.

After a day of use, or after finishing any strenous activity causing my feet to sweat and necessitating a shower.
