As Pacal II ordered the scout in the lower Andes mountains to come north to explore the land north to Maya, he had gotten wind that the Mayan soldiers had come back from a war he was unfamiliar with, and had caused a baby boom. Pacal had no complaints about this, as his empire could support the growth and needed the extra population badly.
He also got wind of a not-so-friendly nation forming in the not-so-friendly Mexico, so he started training holkans in Yax Mutal to move to their border with this northern not-so-friendly nation so that they were prepared in case they declared war on us.
As Mayan scientists figured out how to use this gray metal called iron, the workers felt that they could finally build improvements such as roads and mines in the local jungles for easier transportation. This was good, and Pacal II wondered if he could even build a settler down to the south now in the lands that the locals called "Panama".
Also, Mayan herbalists had found a plant that they felt could work wonders in healing Mayan people. They asked Pacal if they could test these herbs on people, and Pacal, feeling this had a great chance of better healing his people, said yes and even supported it. It turned out these studies were a resounding success, and the population of the cities were unaffected. The people were unhappy about this, however.
After the Mayan scientists had discovered the secrets of Mathematics, the populace of peasants were absolutely outraged! How dare they be educated! They decided to revolt in Yax Mutal, and Pacal decided to pay the local police to wait until peace formed, and then they would crack down on the peasants so that this rebellion wouldn't happen again. At least for some time.
After people in Uxmal had finished building a large statue of
Zeus a Mayan god, they were also ordered to start training holkans to put at the border to protect themselves from future threats.
Unfortunately, it had turned out the settlers could still not settle a city in the jungles of Panama, so Pacal II told them to rest there and form camps until they would be able to found a city there. The settlers were unhappy and bored, but Pacal could do nothing about it.
It appeared the gods decided they hated the jungle on that spot of Panama (totally the work of the gods, trust me), and decided to burn it down to the ground. Pacal II, seeing this opportunity, founded Mayapan in Panama. If a work boat was made to harvest the fish near Mayapan, this could become a large city. Pacal was happy that land was finally being used.
Pacal was getting bored, to be quite honest. The world was quiet, he kind of hoped something eventful would happen once the not-so-friendly northern civilization would finally band together. He wouldn't be happy, if they declared war, however.
