Medieval European Mod II 2016-10-05

If I were you I would just start a campaign against Russia to damage that big empire. Just razing all their cities so it goes faster, when they are wounded enough make peace, and then watch how you have no real enemies anymore.

Seeing as my invasion forces have been destroyed in georgia and germany I may do just that, exept ally with HRE, big risk though that if they run over the russians I am going to get trounced.
;)

@ jetha: I wouldn't know about the next levels, my current game is at the Squire level (I think that's Regent in normal terms). I'm playing as the Magyars, a really interesting position as you can take your empire literally almost ANYWHERE, east or west. I'm currently holding tight on the whole of Central Europe, a large chunk of Eastern Europe and have recently routed the Byzantines. I'll post some screenies soon! I think I'll move up to the next level on the next try, that game was still a tad too easy.

By the way some of those screenies from your early game show the map already almost entirely revealed. However, with my game I was only able to swap World Maps recently (from about 1320 AD onwards). What's with that?

Hi guys :),

I was wondering if you were planning any more scenarios or changes since its been a while since i've last visited.

Portugal was off the map by the time I got there...

@ jetha: Yeah, I splashed Horse Archers around too, but only a few, since I was busy mopping up then-strong-Poland as well as Serbia. Had to keep my troops close then.

Screenies coming up!

No problem.
@jetha
Well, it was going for a couple of months, not bad ;)

A new update will come out one day, was waiting till there's enough new stuff to include. Apart from new units there's some changes to wonders that I'm not sure of. So far it looks like it:

* Hajduk is now a Serbian (and Wallachian) Golden Age unit; Vlastela remains a bonus Serbian unit
* Pistolier and Sipahi no longer require Iron
* Guardsman added as a Russian bonus unit
* Civ-specifics Great Wonders changed to different Small Wonders to avoid problems upon their capture
* St. Sava's Nomocanon changed to SW that gives +1 happiness on the continent
* Radhanite Guild changed to SW that gives +1 happiness on the contient and +1 trade on each tile
* Culture bonus of Pliska Literary School reduced from 5 to 4
* Book of Durrow now becomes obsolete with Paper
* Bayeux Tapestry now becomes obsolete with Black Powder
* Hanseatic League now becomes obsolete with Far East Trade
* New Hajduk animation by Orthanc
* New Varangian Guard animation by R8XFT
* New Slavic and Rus flavor units by Sandris
* Fixed civilopedia link for Duchy of Tuscany SW

+ a graphic patch with Ares' Terrain II + Varwnos' cities

The former Byzantine empire firmly under Hungary's boot.

Former-ally-turned-bitter-enemy Lithuania marching troops of Noblemen over Magyar territory without ROP, protected by the current truce and reluctantly tolerated by the Empire. There's more to the north and west, entering France on their way to little Cordova and heading towards the lone English Continental stronghold in the Netherlands. The reason I'm letting them do this is to re-declare war as soon as their troops have fully deployed in Frankish territory, sign an alliance with France against them, have them attack French cities and then capturing these in turn. I'm hoping Cordova doesn't sue for peace before. The beauty of it is that there's approximately the same number of French Late Knights on their way towards Lithuania. The resulting carnage should weaken both kingdoms and serve Magyar interests very well. :D

1340 AD: Alexandria, the new Byzantine capital after being thrown out of Europe, is under siege by Magyar forces. Ten Bombards are ready to spew fire and destruction on the ancient Egyptian port, while an army of chilvalric knights, crossbowmen and Templar knights wait to mop up the remaining defenders. Within the next ten years, the whole of Byzantine Egypt will fall.

Yeah I guess it'd be more proper to call them Ukrainians now. Big Empire you have there GF, I usually get bored at such point, too much units to move around :crazyeye:

@ virote: Yeah, it was maddening! For each city I conquered, they captured one in the east. Eradicated the Serbians and the Golden Horde in the process. Even though I hold almost all their core cities, they're still number three and cranking out those Noblemen.

@ ed: I did actually lose interest about thirty turns ago, and only kept going because of the dogged insistence that I should finish at least one game. ;) With this new Franco-Lithuanian situation I though to keep the game spicy while building the Expedition.

@ yoda power and ed: Let me once again give you my full appreciation for this mod. It's absolutely fantastic! For my next game I'll kick it up a notch, try for Duke and play a less obvious civ. The Venetians for example. Or the Scots.

It would stink so bad if they DOW'd you right then

@ dezzi: They don't have the cojones for it. :D First time they declared war, they could have put real pressure on my fat cities just east of the Carpatians. What happened? Nothing, just took my most worthless hamlet.
