This one moves away from city micro and looks at unit movement.

I'd ask for spoilers to be used so that nothing is given away too easily. You're free to talk about anything else though.

Be advised that you may find answers if you look at spoilers...

I got hard (t14) with little effort...not sure how to get nightmare.

Spoiler :

Get the workers over there first, build a fort so that you can settle the city 1W of the fort to allow galley passage w/o waiting for border pop, switch units at sea from galley to galleon, use war --> peace to expel your galleon closer to the goal. I was able to disembark + put the shrine on T14, with some galleon movement points to spare.

Now, how to beat t14? I thought maybe gifting music to the AI, but it would take it too long (we'd lose time just getting them the pre-reqs, then they'd take 10 turns to get the border pop. By then, we'd already have the shrine by t14, so that's out. AI border pops are a way to shave time here but I can't think of a way to do it.

I also suspect the jungle-water might have something to do with it; that's not exactly something one would do by accident.

Kossin did a good job pulling techs that unlock caste (wouldn't need fort), and universal suffrage (no airlifting and skipping it all )...though I didn't check every AI's gold and our pre-research into techs. If we could get lib easily (1t away) or something that would be a kind of lame-o micro challenge lol.

1st try

Spoiler :
Figured out how to travel to the desired location(no idea if it will be in time but i guess so), after that i pointlessly gave in to a demand and cannot declare now :hammer2::wallbash: :goodjob: Nice little trap

One way to avoid that for sure :

Spoiler :

Knowing I'd need peace-deal expel teleportation I declared on everyone T0 ^_^. That way there would be enough time for them to consider a peace deal when I needed it.

T14

Spoiler :
Teleportation after DoW did the trick. Will try T13 somehow...

completed the hard challenge; completely stumped about nightmare! though

Spoiler :

switched into state property and serfdom at t0. switched out of buddhism at t1 for open borders with alexander. workers completed roads in 1 turn a piece, then mined the hill. cultural borders popped in 2 turns; i wonder if its possible in 1 with a different civic combination, for instance state property? canceled open borders w/ alex when i was 2 turns inside to push my galleon 1 turn forward, and thus complete the shrine at turn 14.

really stumped about nightmare. you'd either need the galleon to advance 5 squares faster or else need the galleys to advance a LOT faster. i'm not sure if there's a way to get open borders with anyone else, and even if you could get OB with everyone, that'd be only 3 more skips. maybe the solution is to gift everyone music so that they can pop their borders further? i dunno...

T13!!!!

Spoiler :
Workers first, settle city, build culture, bild mine, work mine, send settler with galleon to the next obstacle, settle, gift first canal city to get a movement point for galleon, gift second canal for and then declare war on everyone to get bumped to final city.

Hmmm, reminds me I forgot to add a criteria (minor) for nightmare... editing.

Lol! Ok, now challenge is pleasing Toku to open borders.

Spoiler :
(Mercantilism, shared tech advances, dunno what else since cities are too far to be librated). Can't try now, wife coming home, should be working...:mischief:

T13 a different way than shakabrade
Spoiler :

Use Serfdom to speed up the fort. You need to use one worker to build a road on the hill tile before the RR line starts. This gets the settler and one worker over there 1 turn earlier, and the fort takes 5 worker turns to build, so this speeds it up 1 turn.

I didn't use the galleon at all.

Lol nevermind

Spoiler :
Forgot i did build the the thing on T14 and that was why i could run a prophet...haha

Got Turn 13

Spoiler :

I had to ask myself why Zara and SB were in the game. It seems the Galleon is a red herring, but why add 2 AI?

Because I could gift Zara a city and recoup that 1 movement point I needed to make it to the holy city on t13 instead of 14.

Not sure why, but I brought the workers along too.

Three different solutions to get T13. That makes me wonder if combining them in some way would make T12 possible.

Izuul, why bother when kossin said this to steal our thunder:

And remain a true Buddhist

I believe that means no war declarations...

T12 is great fantastic in my book.
