mNotW VI - Trust a few, fear the rest - Game thread

Diamondeye and Nictel... What's with the rather obvious attempts to prevent ATPG from getting lynched? Afraid of losing another team-mate, after Sabretooth went down last night?

And to the innocents: do you guys really want to trust the likes of Magneto and Juggernaut? Is this some kind of death wish? Or do you seriously imagine that Sabretooth was the only mutant out to wreck the peace process?
 
Exactly my thought. Isn't Magneto the mastermind behind many attacks against humans and the Leader of Brotherhood of Mutants? Now he is suddenly for peace with humans?

I think he needs to explain himself more.

I'm with the innocents, myself. I don't care about human or mutant; I just want the threats gone, the peace made, and for all of us to get out of this place alive. As such, my first choice would be to remove a known killer, Donovan Zane. But I don't know who he is. And I'm not inclined to take a shot in the dark when what we do have here is a known menace (OOC: roleblocker) whose sympathies do not appear all that friendly to innocents. Or at least to the human innocents among us.

ATPG has to go, and with luck we will get Zane tomorrow.

"I'm not that stupid, Xavier, and you even mentioning the possibility of that shocks me, quite frankly, old friend. I had expected at least some courtesy even though I know our views on these matters differ.

I am smart enough to figure out that Sabretooth probably wasn't working alone, when he was revealed to be part of a brotherhood, and I figure that at least Juggernaught also belongs to this faction.

But look at what we can use him for now, if we refrain from killing him. Another nightly scan would be excellent if we are to root out the other killers, and even if he should be killed by these gunmen if he agrees to do our bidding, it would still be a wasted kill for their team.

Besides, I think you know me too well to think that I would let a useful tool such as this juggernaught be lost this easily. If I had the command of your X-Men, Lord knows I would have taken a more - direct - approach to rooting out the killers among us."

"And you base that on what? That I have been coorporating with the X-Men for most of this conference? That I was the first to find and destroy an enemy of peace? Or that I am trying to save what I view as merely a useful tool in achieving our goal?

Fine, I'll spill some of my secrets, some that all the X-Men already know: I am working alone this time. True, my agenda does not include the necessary survival of humans, but it does urge me to keep as many mutants - X-Men or not - alive. It is also this urge that wants me to keep Juggernaught alive, because he is almost harmless to the peace conference and a great asset to our investigation as well as our race as such. And, may I remind you, it was this urge that made me save Charles Xavier from the initial attack. Have all of you forgotten this?

And, in ending, who are you to speak, Seon? Why should we trust you? Time to spill some guts yourself, don't you think?
 
So Magneto, what is your agenda here? We can't have a peace process without both humans and mutants. If your goal is to keep as many mutants as possible alive, and Juggernaught is a member of the Brotherhood, he falls outside of the as possible clause.
 
I don't think you're in league with Juggernaut right now, Magneto (though who knows, I've been wrong often enough). You yourself seem to think that the man is guilty. Yet you think we can leash him to do our bidding, only to then kill him tomorrow? Why would he go along with that sort of plan? What does he have to lose, that would compel him to do the right thing?

Nothing, as far as I can see. If he is evil, he will betray us to the best of his ability in his short remaining life-time, believe it.

And Zane has already failed to kill him once. I doubt he will try again.
 
Well our leadership is obviously none too brilliant, so I'd better do what I can to spare myself.

Ah, well as it seems that I am going to die, I think I should reveal who I've been blocking at night, as it will clear those people of being murderers. Unless there's some reason I shouldn't?

I don't think you understand. We would keep him on a leash and only hang him if he didn't do as we ask him to. You could shut out whatever he says of other things and focus on his nightly actions, connecting player names to character names.

But it looks like it's too late to make you people accept this solution. Still, can't blame me for trying. You know who to thank if we don't find out who Zane and the other guy is in time; yourselves.

If there's 8 hours left I will keep an eye on the clock. It is still possible to salvage this round, and it isn't in our interest to reveal what I know yet. Rest assured that before I die I shall reveal.
 
True enough. Will do. I can at least tell the people I blocked who the others are that I blocked.
 
Yes, although I would point out to whomever you tell that that just means the others not one of the baddies listed in the write-up, not that the others aren't baddies.
 
Day 4​

The day has ended

It didn’t take long, almost everybody had been identified. All that remained was to decide who the threats to peace were. At the end of the day it was the mischievous Askthepizzaguy who gave everybody the most concern and he was singled out. It could possibly be that he was the biggest and tallest guy there, therefore singling him out was easiest. Though bringing him to justice was another matter entirely.

“Bring him here; let us teach this traitorous mutant a lesson.” The senator called out. “I don’t think so” replied the Juggernaut as he placed his protective helmet on his head rendering any attempt on his mind by Jean Grey or Xavier useless. He charged at the senator shoulder first. Wolverine reactions were spot on; he jumped in between the Senator and the Juggernaut claws extended. The Juggernaut crashed into him but wolverine managed to hold onto the Juggernaut using his claws. The Juggernaut stopped to shake wolverine off like a ragdoll and once he was free of Wolverine’s grip he looked up and saw Professor Xavier in front of him. “Hello brother, you make a big mistake supporting these humans” He laughed as he launched himself at Xavier.

The Juggernaut stopped in midair just inches away from the Professor. “Huh? What’s going?” he yelled. The out of the corner of his eye he spotted Magneto. Magneto walk towards him hand out stretched holding the juggernaut in an invisible magnetic field. “You have to accept you fate, you are not after peace, that much is clear.” Magneto raised his second hand and lifted the Helmet off the Juggernaut exposing him to Xavier.

Several of the Senators Aids surrounded the juggernaut armed with rifles and took aim. They waited for a signal from the Senator. “Wait” called out the professor “I’ll do it.” Every looked around at each other, what did he mean they wondered? The Professor looked at the Juggernaut and addressed him directly. “It will be much better this way, brother” he whispered. With that he placed his hand to his head and focused his mind. The Juggernauts breathing slowed until it stopped completely. Magneto released the field and Juggernauts body dropped to the floor with a thud. The Professor signed and declared:
