mNotW VI - Trust a few, fear the rest - Game thread

You sound disappointed by that, Diamondeye.

Well I think it would make just as much sense as any to accuse Renata. And if I read the rules correctly, if we don't give someone 50% of the vote again today, then no one will be lynched again. So no need for random (and invariably incorrect) lynches.

And just to clear things up, did anyone actually die?

A random lynch wouldn't be invariably incorrect... It has to work some of the time. Now, if we aren't doing random lynches, then what is your evidence against Renata?

Well, we have to vote, right? So we all may as well vote for different people. If someone else votes for Renata, my vote will change to someone else who doesn't have any votes.

And true, random lynches are bound to work some of the time, but I would think that the chances are against us getting someone who is guilty.

Oh ok; that's fair enough. I thought for a moment someone had claimed to know Renata was guilty, it turns out I am misinterpreting your post. And the no-lynch policy is certainly fair enough, I'm inclined to agree with it, even if it takes away one of our tools temporarily.

I count five attacks, none successful. Three with named instigators and targets, one with the target unnamed but protected ("girly"), and one just on a "shadowy figure".

None, apparently, on either Autolycus or Winston Hughes, unless one of them was the shadowy figure. And actually the one by Graydon Creed was not explicitly shown as an attack -- the protection being shown suggests that it was, but it's possible Wolverine's presence would have prevented any night action from being taken on "girly".

So. Anyone who actually knows more about X-men than could fit on the back of a postcard have anything to contribute about who's who up there and what their motives might be?

I've just done a little research using the wonders of the internet on these characters. Graydon Creed was the founder of the anti-mutant organization the "Friends of Humanity". Wolverine is one of the more violent x-men, but still an x-man. Stryker's a mutant-hating military man and televangelist. Juggernaught's a mean and nasty mutant who also happens to be Professor X's half-brother. Piotr Rasputin, alias Colossus is a Russian X-man. Donovan Zane seems to have been a very minor mutant-hater who went after spider-man thinking he was a mutant. Jason Wyngarde, or Mastermind, is an evil mutant, once part of the brotherhood of evil mutants. Remy Lebeau is Gambit, a sometime X-man. And Sabretooth is a strong and nasty mutant.

Given how much action we have at night, I disagree with the don't lynch anyone policy. We got lucky last night. We could have lost a whole lot of innocents in one night. I think we should try to kill someone today. It's a shot in the dark, but if we don't shoot, we'll never take down the enemies that menace us. So I'm going to take a potshot at rhawn.

Hmm. All vote for different people at random so nobody gets lynched? I like that idea. I randomly vote Diamondeye.

At no deaths? No.

At complete confusion as to what happens and only 24 hours to vote? Yes.

My vote will remain with TForge until I am presented with more solid evidence against someone else. I don't think the no-lynch-policy is any good since then we will basically let the baddies decide (even if they have been rather inept at that until now). Despite the presence of these powerful X-Men (who, as I understand it, are pro-innocents?), I think an active public sector can't hurt.

Random accusations? Yeah. Sure.

The X-men are likely pro-innocent, but we've only seen an active ability from wolverine.

I've changed my mind. The quiet Tforge concerns me as well. It is only through dialogue that we can bring a successful end to this meeting.

(OOC: @sprig
Are you sure it's a good idea only having 24hrs per day? With players coming from different time zones, it's going to be hard for some of us to communicate properly in such a short period. And it's quite likely that some people are going to get lynched without being given any chance to have people listen to their defence.)

Random accusations? Yeah. Sure.

Indeed. Camikaze, you "may as well" vote for me? It would have been better for you if you'd concocted an actual reason.

(OOC: And I'm not a fan of 24-hour days either.)

Camikaze for random votage which I am not really a fan of.

It's usually an Wolf excuse :scan:
