[mod] Warlords: Total Realism 2.3a

YEAH, I finished a standard game, 24 hrs, 895 turns. The only things I noticed were that the ice breaker told me that it would take over 2 billions turns to break the ice, hmm, maybe global warming is my only hope, ^_^, that and I looked into a flat map, but I can travel it like it is wrapped around, I was looking forward to a more europe map on the next game, but flat may not be an option, is this a bug?

I did try the "great plains" map, and it was circular, so not to sure if I need to download the 2.3a all over and try again since reinstalling the dll file was the only work around for simply writing over it. I don't suppose there is already a europe map for TR already made up? ^_^ and once more, "GREAT JOB" I loved the mod.

It would be neat though if somewhere in the future techs, you could build a bridge between two land masses only 1 square of water between them, like the chunnel or golden gate bridge

or not get a religion until you produce a 'religious leader' first. sometimes I'd like to get Buddhism but hate to wait until some other civ gets one of the earlier religions first to open it up.

No, you don't need to redownload anything. The map scripts should work fine as they are now. Try "custom game", maybe there is some parameter controlling the flatness of the world you can set.

As far as future techs go, our mod has a design decision in that it only represents history - so in our current terms, everything up to the end of XX century. Not only future techs, but even 7-11 is beyond the mod's scope. Likewise, there were no leaders included past the 1970-ies (and we try not to include anyone past WW2 unless they're really interesting).

Religious dynamics has been reworked quite a lot for the upcoming version (although I believe buddhism's prerequisites haven't been changed).

Looking over the techs, basically it'd be when you reached railroad you could put a worker on a boat and park it between two ajacent land masses and build a bridge, as the old CIV 1,

I'm still not sure how a spy is able to incite a revolt,

the only other thing I'd really like to see is earlier exploration by sea. when your neighbor city area extends over into the ocean, it always blocks your workboat/galley/trieme from exploring more. So could you have work boats/canoe be able to enter unfriendly waters? or have a trieme be able to go into the ocean if it has a coastal water next to it? or maybe give that talent to the seafarers?

still, all in all, 99.9 % happy,

PS, for the flat maps, I just go into the game file and change wrap x and y to = 0

Nope, there won't be any earlier exploration by sea. It is fine exactly as it is now, not sooner, not later. Moreover, the next version might see more naval barbarian activity, making naval exploration a somewhat riskier business.

Two comments, first off I love the mod so dont take any of these in bad way.

"BTS version will be released when its done"Jeeze, what are you guys valve? This isn't duke nukem!

Pandemia concept=Best Ever conceived, I love(mostly hate near the beginning) that my cities cant get above size 3, yet endgame they are at 35+!

Downloaded TR 2.3a. When I try to run the .exe, I get the following error:

NSIS Error. Installer integrity check has failed (see image below). I've tried downloading it 3 times now with the same result. Anyone know what the problem is, or know of an alternate download location I can try?

Likely your download didn't finish, and you're trying to launch a partial, and thus corrupted file. You could try to use a download manager that is able to resume downloads. And note that Sourceforge has a choice of mirrors you can choose for downloading the file - experiment with these.

One hears about crashing HD's, always happens to others... knocks on wood.

You sure are comitted to invest money like that. Does TR team accept donations? It wont be much but its a way to show my appreciation for TR mod/team.

No we don't. It's in the readme (and even in the mod itself). :D

And I was commited to saving it anyway, since it contained lots of my personal stuff like photos over a very large period. For many years I used to back stuff up properly, and then I grew lax and went for about a year without any backups, and WHAM!

Thoroughly enjoying the mod. There is a lot to like about it but I especially like the art work used for leader heads - its so much better that way.

I've been playing out a Pyramids -> Temple -> Statue of Zeus strategy but I've just noticed the Temple is no longer available to be built and I can't figure out what I've built or what I've researched to make that happen... I've tried a number of different scenarios in the WorldBuilder.

Pagan temples are only available if a number of conditions is met:

a) You are pagan (don't have any state religion)
b) You have paganism civic
c) The city you want to build in has no religions spread to it.
