[mod] Warlords: Total Realism 2.3a

It works! i can continue my game :) On the turn i normally crashed i did get the old "cant continue message". This was only on the first turn though.

**edit i stand corrected, i still get copper and distillery shortage messages.

Furthermore; Westpoint isn't a problem for most(all?) nations since all the years of revolts give you higly promoted units.

AI tried to sell me clothes in return for cotton. This cant be mended i guess. Now i think of it this is actually very realistic. selling finished products for resources.

When is the close date b4 2.3 isnt supported anymore?

I'm going to playtest the new .dll tonight and tomorrow night, so don't close version 2.3 too soon ! Thanks for the efforts.

Our tanks are the best, our women the prettiest and our wine the finest.
Boasting ? Me ? I don't boast, I'm French !

The date is when we all are satisfied with how it plays - there should be almost no reproducible CTDs at least, and no broken features, like deactivation messages. Then we'll assemble a final installer.

I'm not sure about the cumulative patch - if we add some new quality artwork by that time (which is planned), a patch will weigh too much to be of any use - otherwise, if it's just a bit of XML files and a dll, there'll also be a cumulative patch.

Bah. The Czechs are hotter. I'd take German and American tanks over yours. (and so would the dozens of other countries in the market for buying Western tanks. Leclerc has only one other buyer at the moment...).

But you do have some pretty d*mned good wine. :)

 Yeap ! Czechs are nice too.

Leclerc: roughly 8.6 millions euros. Abrams/Leopard II: more or less 5.6 millions euros. Here is also the problem...

All in all, in game, there are no real differences. As i said, we tried to give some "taste" to each modern MBT. Now, there is another solution -> Same values for all tanks, only graphic changes.... But i dislike. I prefer our actual system. ;)

I still have CTD too with the save I posted in the bug thread.
Oh, and I started a little world map with the scandinavians, on noble difficulty, and I managed to be simultaneously out-teched and largely outgunned. I ended with having my axe and spear army crushed by swordsmen (they were largely more numerous).
I'm not against a little challenge, but it is the first time in my civ4 experience I get kicked on noble difficulty. What kind of bonuses did you give to the AI ? On V2.2, the AI was much less overwhelming.

We'll look into the CTDs. And we didn't give AI any additional bonuses except for... better AI?

Here's an updated dll. Bear in mind, it wasn't properly tested by me, as I'm currently ill and can't spend much time at my comp (especially doing something thoughtfully and methodically) - thus you're very much advised to back up your old dll beforehand. Still, I thought it was a good idea to post it ASAP, especially for people with CTD saves. Please, keep us updated on any errors, new or remaining - as this dll version is a candidate for the FINAL installer build, and any bugs not reported (and fixed) will remain with TR 2.3 forever.

Once again, the attached file contains some bugfixes, but is untested. Be sure to back up your current dll before installing it. Thank you.

A minor bug continues. When I conquist an enemy city, My cities stops to build certain units such as foot knight and bombard, not enough to be a problem since it is only build again ...

I occasionally get this bug as well. Repeats alot with Bronze smiths, Jewelers, and other resource-based buildings. (although not necessarily tied to the conquering of foreign cities. Sometimes it just pops up) I wrote it off as non-debilitating inconveniences to be ironed out eventually. All of them are fixed simply by telling the city to keep building the things.

And I know you guys already got a bunch on your plate. And the variety in the units (even if alot of the differences are either minor or cosmetic) is already pretty staggering. But any chance of adding a second National unit per civ? Some of them are pretty impressive and effective. Immortals in particular I leave unpromoted til I hit footknight levels. (there's certain units they simply excel at better than the swordsmen.)

You will be unhappy. It's not a project at all. Imagine the job to do: finding 24 "real and useful" NU, making all the art job, etc.
Sorry, but at that time it's not a priority.

We are looking on other ideas and projects for our future versions. Some are even made on paper. But the real next "great" work will be converting TR to BtS...

:D:D Gooood !
Better AI component is quite good, isn't it ?
Some leaders were also improved too.

You can go there to speak in french with me if you prefer.

A long time ago, i made my tests on Emperor level. Now, I use either Prince or Monarch (depending on the map type and civ). ;)

Why in a "pre map not established" I can choose among various leaders of civilizations, and in the maps "World Map" and "World Map withoult celts" not?

There aren't supposed to be any selectible leaders in any of our maps - they should all be preset. As a matter of fact, we never found a way to make them selectable.

I can play about 5 turns before i get black units, late game gets very slow indeed, even on a good computer (AMD64 Dualcore). I fixed the MAF but still get black units. I have 2 GB ram.

Alas my game hangs now on the next turn. It just doesn't finish the waiting time correctly. I can use the menu but i cant see the interface. I dont think its because my computer cant handle it.
