[modmodmod] SOI expanded

"Dagestan" - the name appeared in the XVIII century of the Turkic word "Dag" - "mountain" and the Iranian "Stan" - "country". I think that the use of the name("Dagestan") is wrong.

Since it is, or appears to be, the first stable post-beta release of SOI-Expanded, can I suggest that you label it 'version 1.0' instead of 0.1? That way future updates will be recognizable as updates to it (i.e., "1.1", "1.2", etc.)

Just to confirm: this is a stable version, right? (The "unofficial public beta" did include searching for bugs and balance issues?) I'd love to download it from day 1, but I want to check that it won't break my (fairly low-performance) computer. Thanks!

True indeed :)

I have done some more work on this, and made some good progress.
There are no longer multiple copies of relics on the map
Samarra replaced with Basra at start, as Samarra wasn't founded until the mid 9th century.
Abbasids now start with the cities in their core, instead of flipping them
3rd Abbasid UHV now requires 40% Sunni instead of 50% to compensate for the addition of many Orthodox cities to the map.
Sikhism added but not working yet
Corporation icons are not working properly, and Sikhism still needs an icon.

I would rather release something good in a week or two than something half-baked last Friday.

I appreciate that. Just was a little misled by the billboard-style post - the giant font made it seem like you were pretty sure of the date. Good luck

I've got the Buyid's goals working
*Hold the title of Commander of the Faithful in 1035 AD
*Don't lose any cities to the Seljuks before 1100 AD
*Claim the title of Shahanshah

I've got them to display in the victory progress screen, but still can't get them to show up in the Civilopedia or Civ Selection screen. Does anyone know how to do this?

PS: Does anyone have ideas for Bahmanid UHVs?

Go to CivilizationInfos.xml and set the underlined value to 1. IIRC, that should do it.

Code:
		<CivilizationInfo>
			<Type>CIVILIZATION_BUYIDS</Type>
			<Description>TXT_KEY_CIV_BUYIDS_DESC</Description>
			<ShortDescription>TXT_KEY_CIV_BUYIDS_SHORT_DESC</ShortDescription>
			<Adjective>TXT_KEY_CIV_BUYIDS_ADJECTIVE</Adjective>
			<Civilopedia>TXT_KEY_CIV_BUYIDS_PEDIA</Civilopedia>
			<DefaultPlayerColor>PLAYERCOLOR_MEDIUM_ROT_GREEN</DefaultPlayerColor>
			<ArtDefineTag>ART_DEF_CIVILIZATION_BUYIDS</ArtDefineTag>
			<ArtStyleType>ARTSTYLE_MIDDLE_EAST</ArtStyleType>
			<UnitArtStyleType>UNIT_ARTSTYLE_PERSIAN</UnitArtStyleType>
			[U]<bPlayable>0</bPlayable>[/U]
			<bAIPlayable>1</bAIPlayable>
			<Cities>
				<City>CITY NAME MISSING</City>
			</Cities>

PS: Does anyone have ideas for Bahmanid UHVs?

Razed X (3 or 4 optional) hindu cities [represent for war with the Vijayanagara Empire]
Build 4 Great Mosque before X year
Receive X gold for trade Spies and Gems before Y year

I agree - I think the Buyids should have something more focused on their religions, particularly the Twelver aspects (maybe generate 12 great saints - possible by claiming Al Kufah and Mecca and running priests, also give them a UB with more priest slots)

Too close with Shia's UHV.

My suggestions: become fisrt in 4 demographic categories in 1000AD (like Sindh's UHV with :hammers:)

The fact is that the Buyids did not emphasize their religion whatsoever. They were happy to have the Caliph in Baghdad, and even sought marriage relations between their daughters and the Caliph (not always successful). Needless to say, the fact that they were Twelver Shi'ite played no part in their decision making. In fact they were far more interested protecting the Caliphate from the Fatimid Shi'ites (who sought to depose the Caliph), than they were in expressing their religiosity.

In other words, their religion, Twelver Shi'ite Islam, was not the prime directive of their state's actions.

I i don't know if someone continue to work with this mod but i just want to notice the zip file on source forge doesn't work to me. Impossible to lauch the game "font" and other crash
