There's a mod by Beezamy called City Hall that adds a lens that shows some of the terrain features etc. that you could search for in this Moxi's map search mod. Hopefully Moxi will update this mod at some point.

I love this mod, but it no longer seems to be working since patch 1.2.4. Thanks for your continued efforts.
