Multiple leaders CONFIRMED!

I'm half Greek.. one part Lydian (Smyrna) & one part Ionian (Corfu) so multiple Greek & Italian kingdoms could arise. Many overlapping kingdoms would. Mod-tastic. Makes me wanna learn how to make my own lol
 
The uniques will stay the same no matter who is leading the civ. The only exception will be unique provided by leader ability, like Roosevelt's Rough Riders.

I do hope that during game setup, you can choose the AI civs, but leave the leaders random for those civs with multiple leaders.

I am very happy to hear this for the added variety! I hope more leaders will be in Vanilla than are shown on the poster otherwise the DLC is going to bleed me dry :D
 
I hope that an additional leader DLC is not sold separately at the same price as an additional civ DLC. The should at least include two leaders for the price of a civ. Maybe that would not the reflect the work that has to be done for Firaxis, but from a gameplay point of view it is more variety to have more civs that can appear in a game than having the same civs appear, but with different leaders. But we'll see how they'll do it, maybe larger DLC will be available, like the Inca/Spanish pack in Civ 5 containing two civs and a scenario. So maybe you buy a DLC with a new civ and a new additional leader to fit a scenario included.

Honestly, the pricing models are basically irrelevent in modern PC gaming anyway. Give it 3 months and they are all pennies in a sale. They can price em high as they like and once i have the base game i'm happy to wait for cheaper additional content :goodjob:

I think they understand that too, and so don't be surprised when you do see hiked prices for the DLC when it is first released. It will be overpriced because they need it to actually make them a profit still when it's 75% off come christmas.
 
I hope it's extremely intuitve to mod in leaders for existing civs and mod multiple leaders for modders civs. That would be really satisfying.....

While Sukritact's work on Civ VI like leaders is admirable, this doesn't really tell us anything about the ability to mod leaders in.
All the talent in the world to make 3D models and animate them won't help if the game doesn't allow 3D models and animations to be imported. :p
 
@Arioch I think it might be about time to divide up the Civilizations and Leaders information into two different charts on your analyst site. It seems that a lot of people are confused about what abilities and traits are leader specific and which ones are civilization specific.

We do... There are 9 civilizations officially revealed with the names of agendas, abilities and the like. As far as which belong to which... Civilization abilities, unique units, unique infrastructures belong to civilizations and leader abilities, agendas, and religion preferences belong to leaders.

For sure we know maybe 2 leader abilities.

We know pretty much everything there is to know about

America, England, Egypt, Japan, China, Aztecs, France, Scythia and Germany.

We also know Rome's UU, Kongo's UU, Norway's UU, Greek's UB, India's UU and UB, Spain's UU, and I think also a bunch of other things and buildings leaked from the now infamous live stream.

When you settle on a continent other than your home continent, receive a free melee unit. Gain the Redcoat unique unit when you research the Military Science technology. :lol:

The first look doesn't mention which part of the ability belongs to leader, so that's pure speculation.
