"As the leader of the un-free world it is Tropico's duty to extend the Fist of Oppression to the final frontier"
- Penultimo, sixty first El Presidente of Tropico

Today El Presidente Penultimo has officially announced the creation of the Tropico Space Administration (TSA) in the most recent episode of Hola Presidente and the beginning of the Iron Fist project which aims to put a space station orbiting the earth. Many of the best scientists in Tropico are currently working on the creation of the Eos-1 space station.

Spoiler :

Not much else is currently public about the projects of the TSA but many rumors speak of a Selene project which is said is supposed to put a man on the moon.

There's always the ability to record your prior secret stats, add the spending each turn and keep it in a text file. Periodically audit every few turns just to make sure you're more or less on track.

As everyone knows, I am perfect and make no mistakes!

:mischief:

orders lock sometime tomorrow right?

Orders lock in about 35/34 hours. :p

"The development of space industry in Tropico is a sign that space is a area we must return to. It is in space development that we can increase the Imperium of Man's capital while at the same time granting prestige to our empire. It is hence in the suggestion that we must offer our allies such as the Papal States, the Byzantines, Guinea, the (Sinai) Crusaders and Poland a suggestion of a joint operation to develop a holy space programe. Through the voids of space we can increase our power holding on Earth, especilly on information gathering and resource management techologies. Space tourism too will be a tool for our ecomonical power. I hence suggest that Emperor Magnus Flanagon, as well as the freinds of the Imperium of Man, consider the paths to take. In the end we must not miss the chance to go above the stars. This will not only aid our power but help us gain in thoughts with God as we learn of the Lord's creation."

CEO Jack O'Neil of O'Neil Industries in a press conference in Dublin.

Byzantium has expressed no interests in going to space. ever. the money and the resources are better spent elsewhere. like improving the livelihood of the Byzantine people, for example. for some reason, the Emperor thinks we aren't well off.

The Principality of Mann doesn't have enough money to feed their own people, why would they consider going into space?

The Principality of Mann doesn't have enough money to feed their own people, why would they consider going into space?

...and what myth of starvation have you processed? Our people have access to food. Our people have even access to a growing industry. Does the lies of the pitiful Neatherscotts continue in their quest of heretical claim? And is it the interest for them to focus on insults instead of running a goverment? The Neatherscotts are ruled by prideful immature children and pride comes before fall!

Anyrate: the views expressed are that of Jack O'Neil, not of the Imperium goverment itself. However the Emperor will take account of Jack O'Neil.

OOC: Tani; I like to have a word with you in how you recorded my GNP... was that due to the riots?

Isn't agriculture developed mainly by the people itself, and not the government? your statement of not having enough money to feed itself is impossible.

Silly Mann, you need industrialization for that.

Tani; I like to have a word with you in how you recorded my GNP... was that due to the riots?

GNP per capita is (GDP + trade revenue) / population.

Your low GNP is due to sabotaging your economy through mass military buildups, leaving no raw materials for industry to use. :p

TANI YOU BASTARD WHERE THE HELL ARE MY STATS

This is why I can't make nice orders.

Orders will lock in about 30 minutes.

Tyo is being given a slight exemption due to technical issues until later tonight.

Thorvald shall be given a slight extension (I'd say until tonight) as well in case he wants to change anything now that he knows his stats.

No confidential information shall be revealed in this time, naturally. Right now it's just going to be crunching numbers. Here's hoping the new market system serves my timing abilities well.

Russian Revolution

The Czar has been forced to abdicate in favor of his son, Alexei.

This is the end result of several years of increasing ministerial rule, with a new civilian-military coalition forming behind Prime Minister Grigor Stoyanovich. A new Constitution has vested power with the Czar’s government, replacing countless decades of absolutist rule. Russia is far from a liberal democracy, however, with reports of thousands of imprisonments within hours of the Czar’s abdication. The Stoyanovich government has declared a nationwide state of emergency as the country is reorganized. The new Constitution provides for democracy, but specifically grants the government the ability to vet candidates so as to avoid radical elements. Nonetheless, suffrage has been granted to every person 25 and older unless they are guilty of treason.

The most radical reform has been the federalization of the country’s affairs. After years of central mismanagement, Stoyanovich has overseen the devolution of many affairs to local entities so as to improve efficiency. Power is now vested in the provinces, who each send representatives to Moscow. Stoyanovich apologized to the Polish people for the prior regime’s transgressions and has announced plans to release a Polish state under Russian protection; he has also offered generous compensation to those who decide to remain in the country. Reports are persecutions have ceased, and while Russian is still required in schools as a matter of principle, local governments are free to set additional language requirements.

Stoyanovich revealed that the coup was a response to a plan by the Czarist regime to begin a mass crackdown on Catholicism in response to increasing Papal pressure, which would have involved repossession of Churches for Orthodox purposes, the jailing or forced conversion of priests, and increasing chipping away at the rights of Catholics in the Empire. Between gradual emancipation of the Poles under Russian sovereignty and the cessation of persecutions, the new regime is hoping relations can be somewhat restored with the rest of non-British Europe.

In his inauguration, Mr. Stoyanovich concluded with,

“The time has come for change. The time has come for the Federation of European and Asian Republics to stand strong.”

It was hyperbole.

A Message From Adrian Czerwinski IV, Leader of the ARPU, To Grigotr Stoyanovich of Russia
I thank you for promising a gradual freedom to the Third Polish Union. Hopefully this will reduce tensions, and we will be able to work together in the future.

Now that orders are locked fully.

Coming soon to a military theater near you:

OOC: Well, the Middle East/Mesopotamia has always been unstable :p.

OCC: Jehoshua, you are going to regret this. I assume I am correct in that this is a coordinated invasion of the Spammer's Crusade?
