Mitt Romney shuffles in his seat. He is in a radio station, waiting for the red indicator light to flash. Alek Johnson, the talk show host, shuffles his papers and prepares to begin the Q&A session. The red "on air" light flashes, and Johnson leans into the microphone.
Johnson: Good day fellows of the Romney Republic! I'm your host - Alek Johnson, and I'm here with a very special guest. Who could it be?
..
It is, my friends, none other than the esteemed Mitt Romney! We are here to conduct a Question and Answers period, where President Romney will discuss the upcoming fate of our nation.
Take it away, Mr. President!
Romney: Thank you Alek Johnson. I'd like to thank Gold Coast Radio, for lending us their studio. I'd also like to thank the people of our Great Republic, for without you - I would be nothing. From the bottom of my heart and soul, thank you.
Johnson: Thank
you, Mr. President, for being here! I'd like to begin by giving you our main question. Normally, I would let a few easy questions go by before laying this massive one down, but we need to know. The elephant in the room - what are our plans for the immediate future regarding foreign policy?
Romney chuckles.
Romney: Why Johnson, only one word can describe that! Trade! It took many years for our nation to develop this much, and this is only the beginning. Only through cooperation with our neighbors, and free exchange of goods and services between countries, can we hope to achieve the greatness that every man, woman, and child deserves in our Republic!
Johnson: Now don't get me wrong, Mr. President, but many accuse you of being eager to start a war. There is talk that you will follow some sort of
magical desire and wage war, as if you are merely a puppet being controlled by a greater force!
Romney: Oh, don't you worry about that! I assure you, such rumors are completely false. I remain true and loyal to the populace of the Republic, and as I have stated - my agenda is only to establish close relations with our neighbors.
Johnson: Thank you for the assurance, Mr. President. There are also accusations that you are... not fit.. to run our Great Republic. Some even say you are silly and will refuse business with the Republic as a result.
Romney: Silly? They accuse
me of being
silly?
Mitt Romney holds up his hands.
Romney: I built an entire corporation, with these two hands. Through the blood and sweat of my labor and the labor of my friends, I created these here Nation. This was not
given to me, I did not
cheat for this.
I built this!
Johnson: You're absolutely right, Mr. President. We all worked hard to make our country as it is, and under your benevolent leadership, we can achieve so much more. Our next question involves our military. What are your opinions on this?
Romney: 500 years, and I still have not changed my policy. I do not support the cutting of our military budget. A strong military is essential to the welfare of our Republic. On the other hand, it is important that we establish alliances with our neighbors to ensure that those with malicious intent will not overcome us. As for our military, there are no immediate plans to increase our military budget.
Johnson: Quite right, Mr. President. Finally, what are the futures for our collective fiscal and social policies?
Romney: I fully support the right of every Republic citizen to have the chance at a brighter future. My policy always has been, and always will remain - limited government involvement in private affairs. Regulation is necessary in both the public and private sectors, but it essential that we understand that in order to remain free, we must ensure that the common man can make his own economic and social decisions.
Johnson: Spoken like a true genius. Folks, this was our President - Mitt Romney, here on Gold Coast Radio! Tune in regularly to hear the Johnson show, as well as listen to Mitt Romney's personal playlist - Romneytunes! This has been Alek Johnson, signing off.
Mitt Romney sips some water as he streches and gets out of his seat. Johnson shakes his hand, and they both chatter as they walk out of the studio.
