Multipolarity IV Game Thread

Presumably I'd just give them money to splurge.

Timor and Sulawesi have 48 hours to comply with all demands previously laid out.

Rome has 24 hours to remove itself from our sphere.

This is not a test.

Um. that reaction i did not anticipate.

Very well, since it is a bad idea to have Constantinople converted to a smoking crater, we will remove ourselves. and stay out. its your problem now Jakatra. if Spartacus causes more trouble, too bad.

Naturally, this means the Alliance has ended.

Withdraw confirmed.

New America would like to inform the world that the cost has outweighed the gain, and we are withdrawing from the French Empire, handing over all influence in a private sale to another country.

the Roman Empire announces to the world that we are the ones who got the influence.

we will be, hopefully, better than New America, in regards of its handling.

Ah, so you are withdrawing from Timor and Sulawesi? That implies that the Treaty of Makassar has been rendered null and void. Spartacus asks Sulawesi and Timor to disregard the changes laid out in the Treaty of Makassar. We also ask that they no longer vote with Rome in the UN.

Reputation in Tatters

Due to its waffling on geopolitics, the Roman Empire has lost credibility in various parts of the world. While the renunciation of the treaties with Sulawesi and Timor was not an outright betrayal, it nonetheless makes many world leaders question Rome's commitment to its diplomatic actions.

Timor and Sulawesi defer to Spartacus on the matter.

Consider it done, comrade!

Do the people defer to regional foreigners on this matter as well? Because it's about to get real awkward.

New America would like to inform the world that the cost has outweighed the gain, and we are withdrawing from the French Empire Burgundy, handing over all influence in a private sale to another country.

How much is this influence? We are not a nation but we are aware of nations that might be interested and we do have money that we can spend for the sake of that country. We also would like to see the damage between New America and Occitania healed for purposes of consideration.

If tensions between New America and Occitania are to heal then New America must give the influence on Burgundy to the rightful figures to influence the country: Occitania.

Goon Squad, that amounts to 1705 influence. and, dont worry, i may have a questionable reputation, but im going to give that to Occitania for free.

the Roman Empire asks if Occitania wants that.

Well I guess bribery is a good way to secure a future alliance. :p

The French Empire will not honor any transfers to the Occitan government. It would sooner confiscate the assets and redistribute them to its own people, knowing they would have France's interests in mind. While the Empire values Occitan business, it values independence more. Particularly when that independence is the sole thing keeping us safe from the pub-originating concept of "democracy."

what bribery? Emperor Basil the Third was charged for destroying the reputation of the Roman Empire, and was ordered by the Senate to fix it, or he will be.. "retired".

the Fact that he was allowed to fix it was because it wasn't totally the fault of the Emperor. Jakarta handled the dispute very badly, not even considering any peaceful actions, like... say... asking me to turn them over for instance...

That's probably because they are smarter than to trust someone who changes their allegiances as often as they change their clothes.

The British state realises that its current investments are pretty much useless to its current agenda of naval and economic expansion. It is offering all of its outlying influence (influence less than 100 points) - 290 points in total - at a price of 350 gold. Please state your purchase publicly for accounting purposes.

Understanding the Occitans would like nothing more than a monopoly in Brittany, Britain offers all 350 of its influence in the country for 400 gold to Occitania.

Likewise, Antioch is discarding its influence in most countries. The government is renouncing interests beyond the Middle East, particularly beyond Egypt, Oman and Arabia. Please state your purchase publicly for accounting purposes.

New America would like to note that we are still guaranteeing the independence of the French Empire, and still hold a DP with them.
