Multipolarity IV Game Thread

Sulawesi and Timor have announced their intention to secure mutual prosperity through the formation of the Confederacy of the Spartacan Islands.

Yes, their law enforcement forces will remain up to par in these dire times.

The MMAO thanks Bosnia for their finacial help and hopes that more states will help the MMAO in the future.

As such, we give the Bosnian Head of Government the Medal of Humanity, for helping other people who are in need of help.

We hope that more world leaders will help the MMAO.

We stole the nuclear weapons from the Jakartans

OOC: Nice try. Jakarta doesn't have a standing nuclear arsenal. All my weapons are used the second they get off the production line, and this is the same system I use in every IOT to avoid things just like this. As such, it can be assumed that either A.) Spartacus has a time machine and can steal weapons from later on in the timeline from Jakarta or, the more rational answer, B.) Spartacus is being armed by a nuclear player.

Or you could be lying. Both are equally possible.

I'm not in the game anymore. I have no reason to lie.

Hence the OOC tag.

Unless TF built atomic weapons when he NPC'd Jakarta for the sole purpose of them being stolen, NC is lying about where he got his bombs.

Son you quit? :(

Or C) I stole them as soon as you built them. :p

Also I second Arya's question. :(

Operation: Delegation

Hello my fair players.

To try and improve the quality of the game (and my ability to GM it), I will be testing a new system that oddly has never been tried before in IOT.

Benefits of the system for the GM:
-Less work, ergo less chance of GMquit
-Much less time consuming for updates

Benefits for the player:
-Much less time consuming for updates
-Players can edit their orders for the most part without needing another PM
-Players can calculate their spending on the spot rather than needing a calculator

What is this proposed system?

1. Please take a minute to sign up for Google Docs – it’s free and easy (you can sign up with a gmail.com account or other accounts). Docs is normally used by GMs to post their spreadsheets and you’ll need it for my proposal to work. You do not need to download anything; docs is hosted on the Google server and thus is in your browser.

2. Send me your google docs address in a PM or VM (avoids cluttering the thread).

3. I will send you an URL to a spreadsheet that you have co-ownership of; it will have columns for most types of spending. I suggest you bookmark it for the duration of the game.

4. Now, instead of sending a PM, you can just fill out the columns (leave it blank if no spending, of course), which will make it easier for both of us as you just need to type in numbers, and I just need to copy/paste them. Your sheet will be only known to you, but you can share it with your allies if you wish.

5. You are free to edit this spreadsheet without penalty provided it is before the lock. You can even check how much you’ve spent by highlight all the columns.

6. Obviously things such as espionage directives or sending/receiving money from other players should be in an actual PM on CFC. Most of your orders (including army percentages, tax changes, nuclear weapons construction, etc.) can be entered via the spreadsheet however.

7. As a reward for making this game more enjoyable for both GM and player in terms of labor efficiency, those who do this will receive 100 gold each turn (this applies this turn as well, and is cumulative with bonuses for early orders). In addition, because all the spending is more or less in one place, the “all in one PM” rule will be lifted on CFC.

Chicago can either withdraw from their invasion, or face a war with no quarter. Should they fail to withdraw, we will be invoking our alliance with Iceland, as well as our DPs with Rhineland and Denmark. This warning for withdrawal is the same for the Leth, Aragon, and Puerto Rico. If the troops are not withdrawn, we will strike back. We will throw back your invasion by force, and we will occupy your lands. There will be no quarter no given, no mercy shown, for this deplorable act of aggression on your part that was uncalled for and only precipitated by threats, not peaceful and diplomatic talks the way civilized nations conduct affairs.

i will try that out. it should limit my waffling. :p

Responses to the American War

Denmark and Rhineland declare war on the Leth and Syndicates.

Sweden and Finland declare war on New America; they shall be sending forces to Denmark first.

The world is too busy reeling from the trade hit to consider embargoes at present.

War Debt Amendment

In peace, public debt (i.e. not from another player) can be drawn out at a rate of 100% of revenue.

In peace, one can take out up to 500% of revenue.

Ergo, if you had 1000 revenue, you could borrow 1000 gold in peace, and 5000 in wartime.

When in doubt, remember the cataclysmic effects piles of debt can have.

Cyprus sells influence

Andreas II Tornikes is selling 2175 influence that we have, somehow, for an equal amount of gold

we don't know what to do with it, so we are selling it to someone who does.

OOC: You use it to influence Minor States. And since people can just use gold to increase their influence the same way, you should probably sell your influence for like 2000 so you'll get some buyers. :p

OOC: yes, but im using logic here. well, that and i don't want to piss off Bosnia. or anyone else, actually.

New America WOULD buy it for half price, BUT we recently got invaded so our efforts are rather focused on that.

Math, Africa no longer has a cohesive leadership so influencing there is very doable now that the African Union is receding. Jakarta is also due to fall apart into several nations next turn since Sone has resigned.

But yes, influence points are money that's solely redeemable for influence in a country.

Cyprus Repeats its two Diplomatic requests:

1. Cyprus requests a normalization of relations with Bosnia and all her allies, and a Non aggression Pact from those nations. this is to ensure Cypriot security and neutrality.

2. Cyprus asks Antioch to protect its independence. in exchange, we will try our best to protect Antioch from its enemies. also, they will get 2175 influence points from Cyprus free of charge.

Missiles launched from the middle of the Indian Ocean have struck the Suez Canal, Gibraltar, and Venice.

You do realize the absolute worst thing you can do in an IOT game is piss me off and leave me with the majority of my country intact, right?

Tis true. AA's a deadly force when he is filled with rage, for he knows how to secure victory more than anyone!

To Cyprus, From Antioch:

The Vice High Mage of Antioch has been authorised by the High Mage to agree to guarantee Cypriot independence. Antioch looks forward to a long, healthy relationship. Not to mention the influence points.

To Bosnia, From Antioch:

The High Mage has expressed interest in a joint nuclear program with the Bosnian Protectorate, to arm both our great nations with a deterrent.
