''Storm 1...'' Ivan thought. Storm 1 was a deadly trap. Ivan was one of the few who survived the battle. However he wasnt as lucky as his comrades. His brother, Alex, had joined the Democratic Army and so Ivan had to kill his brother. Ad so he did. For days he could not sleep. He had killed his own brother. Russian Civil War. Brother kills Brother.

Ivan and his team retreated back to the HQ. In their way they saw kids starving to death. There wasnt enough food. The Formating Crew, Alaska and the Republic had embargoed USSR. What little food existed was given to the Soldiers. The children had to starve to death.

He had asked his Commander why Alaska, the Republic and the Formating Crew didnt helped USSR in this humanitarian crisis. The Commander replied '' The Foreigners care only about politics. They want to impose us a western democracy. They want us to let the rebels rape or women and burn our houses. They dont care about the people who die because of their embargo. They dont care about the children starving. But we wont beg them. We have patriotism. We shall fight to the last man!!!! ''

USSR was a living hell. A friend of Ivan was killed by his best friend, because he remained loyal to the Government and did not join the rebels.

As Russians killed each other, the foreign powers tried to manipulate the situation and create a weak Russia.

Your soldiers are undisciplined. How dare they make small talk with their commanders. Futhermore, your commanders are clearly poorly trained and only have the positions they do because of political connections. That would explain why the commanders sprout off propaganda with gusto. That is why your military is losing.

And because the USSR is the biggest failed state since Somalia and we're glad the children are starving to death.

Either way once the rebels talked with the Emperor himself they naturally agreed to peace, for once shown with the truth and given the Emperor generous and clement terms they rejected the lies that had been fed for them and were illuminated as to the error of their ways. Peace was restored without a single shot being fired and without a single man losing his life! This is a sign to all the world of the glory of Yamato, for where other nations fight within themselves over power and dominion and cause great suffering, Yamato alone has forged a way to find a peaceful resolution to its internal conflicts as a result of the Emperors paternal care for ALL his children.

It's due time that in the course of history that it becomes evident for the people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of Earth. With a long train of abuses and usurpations from the Yamato Empire, it is in the right of the people to throw off such government.

The representatives of Jinari have published several grievances towards the Yamato Empire:

He has refused us to recognize us as a free and independent state

He has continually claim the lands and citizens of Jinari as part of his jurisdiction when He has no part in the formation of Jinari

For imposing his will on a sovereign and independent nation

For undermining our attempts at operating as a free and independent state

For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of trial by jury

He has continued to place blame for their own ills onto us

In every stage of these oppressions and interference with our sovereignty, our repeated pensions have been answered only by repeated injury. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their Emperor to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. The Emperor is just a figurehead in this world, it's always been like that since after the end of World War II. Accepting the authority of the Emperor and his "dominion over the land of the rising sun" would effectively mean giving up our sovereignty, the lands we worked hard to rebuild, and be forced to bow down to a foreign leader. This is not the feudal era, this is a post-apocalyptic era. The Emperor's claim of dominion over all of the Land of the Rising Sun only shows how imperialistic and how disrespectful the Yamato can be. You cannot force a man to bow down against his will. You've killed people who do not accept your divinity. You even postured yourself in an aggressive stance towards us, just because were sitting on your plots of land and not recognize a foreign authority.

The Jinari Shogunate (aka Jinari Republic) are rightfully an independent state that does not bow down to a foreign government or power. We built this country with our own bare hands, building it up from the ashes left behind the powergame war.

Pray tell what fundamentals are we rejecting? An imperial cult that was stamped out after the Second World War and paved the way of a parliamentary constitution and religious freedom and the separation of church and state? All that we ask is peace and our sovereignty to be respected. Look at Canada or any of the British Commonwealths in the old world. England gave them sovereignty yet they still recognize their monarch.

OOC: IMO, the suggestion of "recognizing your authority and your dominion of the lands" essentially translates to "We'll give you peace, so long as you forfeit the game and give everything to me".

Announcement from HM Government of New Britain, Foreign Office

Following developments in the Russian Civil War, Her Majesty's goverment now recognises the White Russians as the legitimate government of Russia.
To that extent we have evacuated our embassy to the USSR and informed the Soviet ambassador that he and his staff must leave New Britain within 48 hours. Our current embassy has been evacuated to Seoul until the White Russians nominate a capital where it can be reestablished.
In addition we are inviting the White Russian leadership to trade talks and offer financial assistance towards rebuilding once fighting has been concluded.

A Security Council resolution has forbidden future membership by client states, although motions for proportional representation and de facto UN reprentation of unrecognized nations have failed due to confused jurisdiction and obfuscated wording. Meanwhile, New Britain proposes the readmission of Russia to the General Assembly under the rebel faction.

Siamese parliament relaxes leash on national taxes.

The Yamato Civil War has resolved peacefully with amnesty granted to all rebels under the expectation of lower taxes and state contributions to the United Nations. Meanwhile in Russia, the Soviet government has surrendered after the sudden disappearance of its leadership, but reintegration is still on hold unless the country can restore fiscal equity by next season. The interim government begs the international community to end the standing embargoes in order to regain the rebels' trust and facilitate consolidation.

Lastly, some rule amendments for your deliberation:

I really don't know why I decided on base 60% odds. It doesn't look game-breaking at the moment (certainly if last turn is anything to go by) but I think I'll drop it down to 50 for fairness' sake.

Random Events
I think I'm ready to put these into play now.

Clientage
I'm thinking about making the 75%-second-buyout a permanent feature, counteracted by the standing patron's ability to undercut the value of the investment if he gifts money to his client (as what happened in Texas last turn).

Otherwise, I'll lock the status at the end of this turn.
