It's a fantastic drum line, but this is just the wrong song for it. It was either this or France. I think this and France irritate me so much because they could have been so much better, but are not.

Russia (Kalinka) - 15 + 1 = 16 -- This is another one that evokes specific images, but it has the advantage of different images for each era. Ancient makes me feel like I'm walking through an icy wood. Medieval feels like trudging home after a long day at work, and coming into a tavern or home with a big meal prepared. Industrial feels like being on a train or plane, watching the countryside roll by as I get closer and closer to home. Finally, Atomic does a 180 and feels like preparing to leave, whether to war or to the stars. Each one is a terrific piece, but all together it is probably my second favorite of the vanilla civs.

Arabia (Üsküdara) - (22-3)=19 I don't think this theme was that much better than Egypt's. The song choice was rather confusing since Turkish people claim this melody as well. I still like Civ5's Arabia themes better.

Cree (The Drums of Poundmaker) - (18+1)=19 I disagree that it has too much vocals. If it had less, it would just be drumming, flutes and Western Orchestra instruments. I think the human voice is one of the most important instruments in Amerindian musics. The Medieval-Atomic themes have plenty of non-vocal instrumentation, you can't judge these themes based only on the Ancient theme.

It's only in the Atomic version. Military might not quite be the right descriptor, but it's jarring for the song in any case. It's a great choice of song for the U.S.A., but the composer just mangled it in my humble opinion.

America (Hard Times Come Again No More) - 8 (7 + 1) -- I'll buy this one some more time. Yes, the Atomic version dropped the ball, but that's true of 90% of the themes here. I can't think of more than a handful that sound decent in the Atomic era.
