Muslim hypocrisy?

Remember how the late John Paul II was portrayed with his physical struggles in his last 5 or so years of life. I remember seeing him being ridiculed and jeered at all the time on late nite shows and so forth. Catholics weren't up in arms about any of that, most of them brushed it aside as secular ignorance

1: What shows were these?
2: Any proof?
3: Being jeered isn't exactly the same as being labelled as a terroist now is it?

Hmm... lets see... Denis Miller Live, Adam Carolla (sp). basically any trashy late nite show on Comedy Central. Do you want the exact dates they aired as well? He might not have been labeled a terrorist but it was still insulting none the less. My point is no Catholic uttered death threats over any of it.

Too me, this whole issue in addition with the way most muslims turn a blind eye to islamic terrorists, just show that Islam is suffering from a major inferiority complex. This doesnt surprise me given their history and current state of world affairs.

no they dont, they are equally affraid of them as the west. in some cases, like Iran, the Government terrorizes its own people, more than any other.

I was refering to leaders of the islam world and leaders of islamic countries, not to private citizens. :)

its different if a Christian tells joke about his own people/faith/cuture.
if a white christian in America told a joke about Jews, and how much they do this and that, he is branded an anti-semore, jew-basher.

also given that Muslims are already sensetive when it come to the western attitude(due to long practices of failed foreign policy, invasions, arrogance, etc) this kinda of behaviour boils their blood even further.

right!! the leaders, undemocratic, dictator, brutal leaders.

It would be nice if Muslims objected to terrorism in the name of Islam, as much as they object to cartoons.

Well said Bozo

And who are they supposed to object to exactly? The terroists don't exactly leave adresses about to send complaints too.

they do, i know that for a fact. but dont expect to hear it loudly, since this kinda behaviour endengers the objectors.
and finally dont expect to see it on CNN. since we all are barabraic, idiots, that need to be invaded, and freed.
;)

Sounds like the hardline view many Muslims have towards there neighbors.

They do. But the objections to cartoons are being emphasized by the media.
You mean somewhere there are crowds of angry Muslims burning pictures of Osama, but the media doesnt focus on it?

You know Bozo, I was watching Skynews and I'm sure somewere in the crowd of protesters protesting... free speach... of all things there were a few. Mabey they were behind the guy holding the " Remember 9/11 Europe " Sign, or prehaps they were having a smoke next to the guy with the " Behead all Infidels " motif?

The whole " well they are afraid " line of reasoning is pure bs. If they are afraid of them then who is really running the show?

No, I mean that there are Imams who make public statements against terrorist violence.

You think angry crowds is a mature response? Because denouncing terrorism is mature.

Where were the angry crowds of Americans when Pakistan got bombed by the CIA?

duh, the terrorists, and those who support them for their own benefits.

really i think we will see a lot of revolutins in the future of ME. these will topple the dictators (president... for life???) and bring democracy, and freedom to the nations. one place i am sure of is Iran. although i think when the time comes, it will be either as bloody as the last one, or as soft as the orange revolution. :)

So basicly your telling me there is no free speach in he Arab world cause your respective goverments can not stop a bunch of guys with guns and bomb belts from censoring whomever they like?

At least we agree on this

we will see a lot of revolutins in the future of ME.

I would have to say bloody though, given the islamic system of justice.

They need to fear the rest of the world more than they fear their own extremists. Until that happens I dont see things changing.

If there were several groups of rogue American fighter pilots, devoted to the destruction of Pakistan, that had already carried out numerous attacks on the country, there would be lots of protests.

Google "Muslims objecting terrorism" and you will find them

yes that is basically what I am telling you. and because the people are fed up,the powers that be, are trying to appease them by implementing some degree of freedom, however limited and consored it may still be. i guess they dont want to lose their control over the country.

and its not the islamic justice thats bad, it the tribal one that has remained, or resurfaced. arabs used to burry thier newly born daughters, but When Mohammad came he outlawed it.

I sould say that the last iranian rev, was indeed bloody, especially wehn the Islamists clamped down on the Leftists, the Kurds, and the former monarchists, *btw the left actually helped with rev. they actually united with the islamists, in order to bring the Shah down, and up a sorta Democracy. but he rev was gradually hijacked by the Islamists, and the war with iraq which came 2 years later, helped to strengthen the Mullahs. things are more Gray, than they are Black and white you see.
