My heart is broken...

You dont think that people who create false personas on the web could do that? /pshaw...it would be extremely easy to do.

I have seen the lengths to which some of these people go to fool others on the web......it can be pretty darn elaborate to be honest.

Hmm, well enough. We have just been inundated with so much information about her (She has even entered #fiftychat to talk, before) that it seems unlikely that she could be lying. Although, the story about her living in Texas and going to school in Baltimore is a bit hokey.

But you need to remember that even though you thought you sincerely loved the girl, you didn't actually love her - you were infuatuated with her. Love is far more complex than that.
You could say he was in love with the image he had of her. I take it he never actually met her in person right?

Ive talked with her, and i guess she was too nice or naive to not know i had a crush on her.

Ive been hiding this from CFC for about a month.

But i met this girl online through www.hotornot.com that i sincerely loved, because she had nearly all the same interests as me and looked good to boot. But i was interested with her not because of her looks, but because she had nearly all the interests i had.

She liked final fantasy for one, and pretty much all other video games that i loved.

She seemed to like me, and seemed to take an interest in me. And at one time said i was cute. I thought we would be good friends and something more, but Nowhere in her profile did it say she had a boyfriend though.

Why would she sign up to that site if she had a boyfriend? My heart is broken...
Xannik, examine your OP, word for word and line by line:

1. You 'loved' someone that you met online a month ago.

2. Because she likes the same video games that you do.

3. After a month of exchanging online messages, she revealed to you that she has a boyfriend.

If you disassociate yourself from your feelings of rejection, and look at the situation objectively, you wont be able to avoid realizing that:

1. You never loved her, because the entire time she was a complete stranger.

2. Liking video games isnt that important a factor in determining whether a person is compatible with you or not.

3. She says she has a boyfriend, so it would appear that after youve paused for awhile and taken some time to reflect, that youre completely free to try and find someone who is more compatible with you, beyond video games.

Dont you feel better now?

Note to self: turn off the comp when your done with OT for the day, or they'll drag you back in, like the Mafia;) :hatsoff:

She didnt reveal to me, her friend did.

And ive talked with her a lot and got to know her. So what the hell do you know bozo?

I'm not sure you can be in love with someone you have never seen faccia a faccia.

No offence Xanick, but given I had a 4 year + relationship collaspe earlier this year, I hardly think you know what 'heartbreak' is *bitter*.

edit - sorry if that sounds harsh....i'm just being practical.

Ask to meet her in person. (I did and am now married to her. ;) ) That way you will know if it's meant to be or not.

Easy there Xan. I think a little experience counts for quite a bit. Btw I agree with everything he said.

Out of curiousity how do you fall in love with someone you've never met in person?

You should walk away with what you learned, and apply that to the next girl.

I remember a time where you had trouble simply talking with girls. Looks like this time things went better, no?

Before my first marriage I was afraid of a woman saying "No".
After my first marriage ended , I was more afraid when they said "Yes"

A broken heart now is nothing compared to the hell a woman can put you through later.

A couple things, Xan:

1) I think you're taking this a bit too hard. She can't be the only person in the world who likes the things you do, and you only knew her for a month.

2) Why post a profile on such a site if you have a boyfriend? Ego-enhancement, I'd say.

Moderator Action: If this thread revolves around Xanikk I'm going to close it. If it can evolve into cyber dating or something else I'll leave it open.

Aww, come now Whomp, we had somethign from the first time we crossed swords
We had to meet before it was for real, love bug.

My guess is that most relationships that get their start from the internets dont end up lasting too long... Of course there are exceptions, but still...
