Reason 1. Because I am too inexperienced to handle a major power. There was a thread about this and it was made very clear that only the well skilled should ever play those nations or it will mess up the game.

Reason 2. Yellow is a easy to find color.

Reason 3. China and Japan were taken.

Reason 4. When I took UCC, Texas was not taken and it seem like an easy first conquest. But since we start with zero army and it now has a player, it will be a more difficult target.
