Really? When?

Well, he did survive ITNES I... though, it didn't die yet. Hmm...

He doesn't LOVE them

The people? :p

I've got too much empathy to betray others.

True (or at least I can't remember you betraying anyone; which, frankly, is rather weird), and I think you'll have to get rid of that soon. Empathy is the privelege of the politically-negligible, I'm afraid.

So....are you going to summarize and give awards?

Patience.

Iggy, personally i think you don't have that much of a right to complain about how FK didn't help you out. Frankly, you didn't do much to warrant your own survival by asking Das to NPC you or send 2 lines worth of orders in the most critical moments . If you tried your very best and the FK let you down, then fine. But when you let your own nation down like that...

Please, I had to go on a trip and had no internet connection. The update was delayed or something like that that week. It was pure bad luck.

Don't think he complained about that...

bad luck that Thlayli took full advantage of :). You could've at least asked someone else to send orders for you though. Like so many ppl asked Thlayli for ;)

I'm pretty sure he's been mentioning about how the lack of FK support doomed him, and how his people hated FK more than Persia...

The people?
The Persians.

I like knowing that I can be trusted. And at absolute worst, I have the moral high ground, which gives me some satisfaction.

I wasn't aware that that was allowed at that point.

Is it just me or does Ottoman Empire never get a good outcome in any NESes (at the end, not the beginning). It doesn't even seem to matter how strong they start out with. They always seem to just go downhill..

The Persians.

I know, hence the smilie. ;)

Azale's 1898 NES, the one where you played China. GM did a jolly good work with the Ottomans back then.

cease the posting!

Yes! If it catches up to ITNES something horrible might happen!

Or maybe nothing will happen, but still.

All patience runs out in the end das ;).

THe Ottomans don't have the best strategic position in the world it must be said...the minorities don't help either!

The flame war wasn't as big as I feared though.

Spoiler :

Thats because several pages were deleted ;) right after that post of mine you quoted it got personal for some people

The Balkans is a strategic hellhole to hold under control.Terrain, minorities, plots and fights to the bitter end makes it my perfect home.

In my opinion people always confuse empathy with sympathy - empathy is merely being able to simulate the emotional state of others in your own mind, its a tool berefit of morality, its how you let it alter your actions that contains the morality. The best manipulators are those who know the pains and desires of those they manipulate , and you better pray your torturer doesn't feel your pain - he'll probably do a worse job ;)

26 posts to go :)...

Aww...I wrote seven stories this turn for nothing!!?!?

But in all seriousness, I apologize for doubting you, Iggy. You didn't seem like the type of person to betray me...hence my confusion.

Still, I don't think I'll ever doubt you again...probably.

Das...I just have to know. Did my secret project succeed?

Oh, and one more thing. I'm personally proud of taking Persia from a pathetic little backwater (see 1860 map) into a major power that almost beat the FK...frankly, that's good enough for me. :)

True 'dat, as soon as france and china were gone...it was really over. I wonder who Isrealite was going to play as? And the rise and fall of perisa was a good story* Thlayli, you were both lucky and good. As for backwater - you had a larger army than Dalnorossia in 1860 :mischief:

The federates would never have given up eygpt - especially with their Med victories...

*Phrasing carefully choosen ;)

lurker's comment: Das, you need to mod a Decades of Darkness NES!

ITNES!!!! SCREW ALL OF YOU WANTING A BT FOR THIS NES!! ITNES SHALL RISE AGAIN!!!! (no offense meant to anyone aside from silver :p)

True, but the original plan wasn't to attack the FK for a long time...actually, all of Egypt and North Africa was planned to be French.

Originally the anti-Ottoman coalition included Panda's France and Capulet's Poland, in addition to Dalnorossia and Persia. The plan was for France to attack Egypt and Palestine while Persia and Dalnorossia did what happened in the Turkish War, and Poland took the Crimea, also starting the Slavic revolts in the Balkans.

Me and Panda actually planned this the day the NES started. ;)

But they both left, and Kal'thzar/Thom took their nations in very different directions. Not that I blame Kal, he isn't supposed to know about every secret plot his nation was involved in.

So, awards or no awards? I suppose I'd rather have ITNES, but my first choice is NES2 VI.

Or even NES3 I??!?!? Not sure how that would work out, though.
