NESLife attempt #3

Keep in mind, my guys are capable plant-eaters too, so you're moving into a dangerously similar niche.

We'll see how things turn out soon enough!

Thanks for the new species. I also want to say thanks again for all the cool stuff people made last time - Splime, Lord_Iggy, North King and Niklas especially. Its been a very useful reference for me to use too. Im not asking anyone to update anything though, especially as things are getting more complicated (until another mass extinction happens :) ).

@North King, very nice story!

I'll post my evolution chart on request, it's a big upload to make.

I'll post individual sections, if people want.

Mouha Finner said:
Mouha Finner : erez87
Evolved from: Efficient Finner
Genes (20): Skeleton x1, Jaws x1, Plant Eating x5, Plankton Eating x1, Swimming x4, Eyes x2, Gills x3, Mass Reproduction x2, Cold Resistance x1
Description: Just the efficient Finner continued evolution. Better at digesting more plants and swimming at even faster speeds The efficient finner seemed to also have improved eyesight. It can now spot food and enemies from further away. The Mouha Finner is much better equipped than the efficient one.

Xoso Finner : erez87
Evolved from: Mouha Finner
Gene added (you can add two): Skeleton x1, Swimming x1
Description (optional): The Xoso is the newest member of the Finner family. It also radically changes them. Evolving from the hyperactive Mouha Finner the Xoso takes it's speed, agility and perfect body and makes it better. The Xoso body has become much longer and new pairs of finns have been added upon it's body, 2 more pairs to be exact. This brought the Xoso to develop newer and better swimming styles and together with a growth in it's skeleton strength and length it has became a an animal that truly shows the meaning of it's family - The Finners. With 3 pairs of Finns and a long body that in the passing millions of years adapted to move in water flawlessly the Xosp quickly is becoming a powerful contesters for existence. Keeping the plankton eating capabilities of it's past ancestors allow it like any other Finer before it to move from one plant grounds to another without risking of dying in hunger on the way allowing it to spread much better across the seas. Beside that it's young usually feed on plankton and move across the seas bringing the Xoso everywhere.

finally got a chance to check everything out. I believe you said Shellster Velenopod when you meant Shellster Spitzepod. I also think you forgot to mention the Velenopod's extiction. Checking the stat sheet, Spitzepod is still alive and the Velenopod is gone (I presume exticnt due to recent evolution). More nitpicky details, but I am planning to evolve the spitzepod this turn so I wanted to make sure all was correct.

Mouthvalion
evolved from scalavalion
+ big mouth, flesh eating, hibernation
What has a big mouth, a bigger stomach, and a really big tendency to sleep?

is this OK luckymoose?

@tuxedohamm, my intention was that the non-poisonous branch would survive seperately, thats with the Spitzepod I believe, while your latest species would also survive with their new lifestyle. I'll check my files and stuff to see what ive mixed up.

Crocodile? :)

These finners are going to be running rings round all the predators!

Yuckius Prettius: BananaLee
Evolved from: Yuckius Explorus
Genes Added: +1 Flesh Eating, +1 Lure
Description:
Prey #1: Larry, no! Don't look at the light!
Prey #2: [entranced] I-can't-help-it. It's-so-beautiful.
CHOMP.

In that case the Spitzepod is the surviving species and you accidentally mentioned the Velenopod as surviving, when it actually went extinct and replaced by the Velenus Primus.

So therefore...

Shellster Spitzepod: tuxedohamm
Evolved from: Shellster Olfactopod
Genes (15): Drifting x2, Plankton Eating x6, Spikes x2, Shell x1, Tentacle x1, Smelling x2, Cold Resistance x1
Description: While the shell still remained, it had decreased in bulk, replaced by more spikes. The Spitzepod also adapted to the cooler waters of the poles and was able to take advantage of the larger plankton population.

------

Shellster Kipinus : tuxedohamm
Evolved from: Shellster Spitzepod
Gene added (you can add two): Plankton Eating x1, Swimming x1
Gene removed (optional, max 2): Spikes x1
Description (optional): Unable to get enough plankton in these lean times the ?? has slowly learned to navigate the waters through the syncronized motion of its tentacles. Using its sense of smell to search out pockets of plankton, it is now able to swim to them without waiting for the currents to move in that direction.

When discovered the consensus was to name it after Dr. Eric Kipins who had suffered multiple injuries when accidentally swimming into a school of these creatures.

That is the idea Daft :) And soon they will also take bites out of them for extra energy ;)

Spoiler :
Big Fanel V3: TerrisH
Evolved from: Big Fanel V2
Genes (24): Photosynthesis x7, Water Retention x3, Acid x1, Stem x2, Leaves x2, Cold Resistance x1, Carpeting x1, Roots x2, Large Size x1, Fruit x2, Fast Growth x1, Stinging Tendrils x1
Description: With it's better abilities, the Big Fanel soon found it's self expanding into new areas, seeking out new lands, and into direct competition with the Zeeboo. While not as hardy, the young seedlings have a similar rate of growth. It also developed its first Tendrils during this era.

Scavenger Fanel
Genes Added (Max 2): Scavenging Roots x2
Genes Removed (Max 2): Roots x2
Description: In this offshoot of the Fanel the roots systems of the plant evolved into taking more nutrients out of the soil from the dead (both plant and animal) around it. This was especially useful since there was much decay in the Zeeboolands and Fanel Forests of the world. The fruit seeds as well as the fast growth helped start this offshoot off in the right direction but does it have what it takes to survive????

OOC: Not sure if I have to remove the origional roots to make them into Scavenging Roots. If I dont have to remove the roots first then Id probably remove the Large Size x1 and Stinging Tendrils x1.

I'll update within a few days. I have drawn most of the new species today. Im also aware I still have other things to update :(

@Splime, sorry I overlooked your story, I completely missed your post! :o I want to say I've read it now, + thanks :)

Daft, why are you posting in this thread but not in DNES? :(

OK something new to post, not that its great quality or anything, but the new evolutions will probably look like this...

Actual update is coming soon, maybe tommorrow night if i get time.

edit:
Daft, why are you posting in this thread but not in DNES?

Because all I can say is 'im not calling this dead and still plan to update' which I've already said a few times over the last few months :o
