New Beta Version - April 9th (4/9)

So in my game with this version, the AI kept declaring war on and conquering City States. Not even as part of that CS vs CS war quest (unless the AI gets diff ones, but that would be weird since they actually fight). Prob ten times an AI declared without provocation. Does anyone know if this a new feature, normal on Immortal (particularly Immortal Marathon), normal on not-Huge maps, or just a weird random occurrence of this playthru?

Conquering city states isn't an automatically-bad strategy. I'd certainly do it if I was stuck in a corner with few city sites.

I didn't mean to suggest it was a bad thing, just something I'd never seen before.

Actually, it would be really useful to actually see the log at the moment you have an issue.

I do not play with EUI and will not be installing it. :)

I will go back and recreate it the failure, but I'd suggest that you write such a disclaimer clearly stating NOT TO USE EUI with your UI, then to code as such, going as far as to disable it.

Putting something out there that's not functional (because its not been tested) under a supported UI mod, leaves us all unnecessarily in the lurch. Imagine the hours wasted by people trying to figure out what they did wrong...

BTW, in no way take this to be that I'm not sympathetic at the apparent ongoing feature swell of EUI. EUI is doing a poor job supporting its users, modders such as yourself.

I refuse to download EUI because it installs into the Civ V directory, and I do not subscribe to mods modifying my experience outside of enabling a mod.

G tests every update I push to CBP with EUI, so if it's broken, he lets me know where.

I am unable to replicate any issues ATM with the Corporation Overview lua breaking, which is why I ask for Lua.log's, so I can see where it is breaking on the user's machine which helps me find any potential issues and plug them up.

I love EUI, but you're not missing tons. The original UI is perfectly playable and a MASSIVE improvement over older Civ games' UIs.

###

So, I've spent a lot more time with the negative events and have learned that there are a LOT more ways to open and start this game than I realized. I started adapting my behavior to the VERY high likelihood of negative events and realized that, holy jeez, there are a lot more valid approaches to this game than I realized.

Yeah, it makes you think how with all their resources Firaxis didn't/couldn't manage to include events. I mean they could've even made an expansion or big sized DLC featuring this and ppl would gladly buy it. Would definitely be more successful than BE, both quality and commercial wise. And by making it so modder friendly, Gazebo tapped into huge potential, in a year we'll probably have a sophisticated and well-integrated system almost like EU4. I guess Firaxis will realize its value, then incorporate it into Civ6 in a terrible way, and sell it piecemeal with various schemes.yey.

I noticed that, in this version, when I hover over a leader's portrait in the EUI, it notes that they have "0 wonders" regardless of how many they actually have. I seem to remember this not being broken in the last stable version, but I've been wrong before.

You on 4/10 hotfix?

Nosir. I completely missed that there had been a hotfix.

On the flip-side, every time I download a new version of this, it feels a bit like Christmas, so... yay! Christmas!

Edit:

Delayed Christmas. I cannot find the hotfix.

Double Edit:

Github has it, yes? I always forget about Github.

Hello I'm playing latest Beta can someone take a short look at these log files what is the Issue I play maybe 150-200 turns then there's always a CTD that I can't get past.

xml.log , database.log , stopwatch.log these are the log files that have errors I believe ,others are one liners or empty.

I know, right? Today marks a week since last update, and I'm starting to get twitches. :eekdance:

I know, right? I download and install the code over on github which satisfy my itch (as a week without a beta seems like an eternity!). However its not updated as often as I'd like. At times ilteroi's branch has some nice new changes to test, but sometimes also behind a commit or 2). Gazebo, push & merge more often!

Are you joking? For a mod this is incredibly fast!

Same thing has been happening to me the last few patches. I've had around 9 games where around 200 turns there's a CTD I can't get past.

I've mentioned it a bunch of times, and added logs. I've been hopeful other people have this problem as well, because I'm using the default mod, and it would be nice for others to have this problem and not just me.

I'm deep in the throes of a real work project, so I've had to put mod work on hold temporarily. It'll probably be another week or two before I get to dive back in. Sorry! Crunch time on a long-standing project. I am collecting bug reports so that - once I have time - I can punch it all down. I'm also awaiting Putmalk's ambitious restructure of the corporation DLL parts (won't affect corporation experience, just the DLL back-end).

As such, if you see a bug report or something posted in random spot, try to remember to throw it onto github.

In the meantime, y'all should write some events. :)

G

I hate it when real life does that. :p But current version plays nicely with few major bugs that I have encountered, so that's nice. If we write events, should we post the code somewhere to make a co-op out of it?

That'd be nice. I know Hokath and Enginseer are working on some events together, and there is a 'event workshop' thread around here somewhere. Might be a good place to collect events.

I am unable to replicate any issues ATM with the Corporation Overview lua breaking, which is why I ask for Lua.log's, so I can see where it is breaking on the user's machine which helps me find any potential issues and plug them up.

:)

As a non-EUI user, I'm getting this issue as well. Logs say this:

Spoiler :
Runtime Error: C:\Users\MyComp\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\(2) Community Balance Patch\Modular Elements\Corporations\CorporationsOverview.lua:177: bad argument #2 to '?' (Key must be of type 'number' or 'string'.)
[26462.933] Runtime Error: Error loading C:\Users\MyComp\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\(2) Community Balance Patch\Modular Elements\Corporations\CorporationsOverview.lua.

Can give full logs file in case there is something I missed.

Thank you for all your work! :)
