Any chance the next version will be save game compatible (for future wars/vassalizations)?

In my immortal/epic tradition game as marocco, i was able to get one. Warmonger sweden is snowballing hard, attacking civ after civ to capture more cities. He is currently at 12 cities while most civs are at 4 to 6. After he declared war on china, which was already previously weakened by him and Assyria, i got a message from China, i dont know the exact wording anymore but you will figure it out when you read it by yourself that you are probably able to voluntary vassalize them. It costed me 22gpt and one copy of every luxury. So basically they escaped their war in my favor. But if i dont stop sweden soon i can give up this game anyway though....
Edit: As you can see i wasnt really strong considering military power, and even my relations to china were not the best. I think maybe it was a mix of being scared to hell from overwhelming sweden and a lack of other options.
Not really. I think China would have been an potential enemy, because they were mad that i put a city next to them. But then Gustav Adolf said hello. That's a really interesting anecdote. I wonder what triggered the vassalage offer to you instead of to someone else, and at that time? It doesn't sound like your military strength compared to their aggressor was a factor. Were you on especially good terms with China?
Does that count as backstabbing if you declare on a DP/DoF this way?I don't see why this should be the case and don't see how it could be easily done, either. As it will be, the master will DoW everyone the vassal is at war with, then the vassal will DoW everyone the master is at war with.

That is a very good point & the reason I mentioned that you should only join any war a vassal is directly attacked, whilst all other wars vassal is involved in end. Say Incas ask you to vassalise them, who are currently involved in a war against Morocco which they started or in alliance attacking. You have a DOF with Morocco,& attack them. Surely you should be ostracised for being a backstabber & get bad relations arond the world. Now if Incas are attacked by Morocco, & you join war that is slightly different scenario but would you still get negative relations for attacking. They are vastly different actions but could lead to the same penalties.
Although there are problems with vassalige, changing things could make matters worse, as Recursive has said it is not easy to change single things.
Seems like i cannot declare war on a civ that has defensive pact with another civ that i have a peace treaty with atm.
I think this is new , right?
Also some civs do manage to get more than 2 DPs in my game![]()
How many civs are you playing with? The limit is 2 + floor(number of other met & alive major civs / 10). Unlimited if AI has the order NW.
Well, there goes my exploit .... no more playing around war weariness ... It's understandable tho.Yes, this is new (an exploit fix). I've added clarifying text for next version.
I should add that for voluntary vassalage too, to prevent a new master from bypassing a Peace Treaty that way.

that’s 2 on standard 8 civs correct? On my recent terra map with 7 civs, I saw a dp between 3 civs
Yeah, always play with 8 civs total and 3 seems to be the cap for DP's normally, see that all the time but can't remember seeing 4 recently.
It sounds like you're making a lot of progress! Just out of curiosity, do you think the next version you refer to will be posted today? I'm recovering from a medical procedure so I'm staying in bed for a few days, and I'm not sure whether I should wait to start a new game. Vox Populi is the perfect way to pass time after surgery!
Thanks so much for the information! Yes, Gazebo, one of the driving forces behind VP - perhaps it should be renamed 'Gazebo's Sid Meier's Civilization V Vox Populi'. Although I know it's absolutely a team effort, just like unmodded Civ V was. I've been playing Vox Populi since the relatively early days of the CPP, and it has been stunning to watch its development. At times like this, when I'm essentially immobile following a procedure, it really is a lifesaver. And I'm so frequently in and out of hospitals, VP genuinely is as beneficial to my wellbeing (at least in terms of warding off boredom) as some of my medical treatments.@Gazebo does new versions.
And there is yet work to be done (fixing issues in the current version) from ilteroi and Milae, so I'm reluctant to post a patch at the moment...
