New Buildings Discussion

I will continue working on those on Tuesday.

Mr Azure,
if you want to do any pedia to my files, feel free to do so until Tuesday. After then, I will download my files and start editing them again for the new buildings.

Also, do you want to make icons for the new buildings and resources? I did everything (with [your] icons) up to post 734 on page 37. So I need icons for everything after that, if you want to.
 
@ Hydro,

can you pls do a NEW wooden_tower_btn, the one presently there shows up PINK, thx.

Here is a new icon/button for the Wooden Tower.

It only shows up pink on the tech screen. in the pedia it is fine. I changed Hydro's old button back to my bad one and it still shows in the pedia and not on the tech screen. This suggests something wrong in the XML not the art work. This is why I asked for someone to check the XML which is in Modules/Resources/NewResources.

Edit found it. the .dds was missing on the button information in the build infos definitions.
 
Done all the new buildings and resources. Icons missing (yet), but XML code is working.

I'll have the art done when I wake up.

Also I'll do the Tech renaming we discussed about later this week using Grepwin so Tech Tags match Tech Names (GMO to ONLINE_COMMUNITY etc) on All files in C2C. Only files edited that will probably be my CIVPedia Text, my CIVPedia quotes, Techinfos, Faustmouse folder, select files in Hydro folder,(if he made Transhuman buildings after June 2012), but it will rename every tag.

I think there are less than 8 Tech Tags that need renames, and all in Transhuman .

Also when I upload the art for Reclamation Plant it will be a base image, Hydro can later add the tiny ore/metal icons on the top right.

Yeah I'll make sure, it will change the tag for all files in the mod.

I batch converted my .Jpgs into DDS DXT5 using XnConvert (Free-Can convert like 500 different image types). See attachment.

I will give you the art files in DDS DXT5 from now on.


DXT5 also works in Caveman2 Cosmos.

There is an error in the art path for aluminium reclamation plant.
Circadian Chamber is Regenerative Medicine, Not Molecular Medicine.
 
Good Faustmouse. From now on i'll give DDS DXT5 thou to save you the pain on converting from .jpg.


This is how I make art buttons (from now on)

1.First I load my 64x64 art files with the Border. Can be .jpg or .png.

Then under Actions, I add a Mask.

I find my Alpha Channel and add it.

I scroll down and click Use Mask as Alpha.

I make sure Filename is Empty.
I make sure DDS- Directdraw Surface is Selected

I then press Convert and its done.

Yes, i figured that out about hour ago. :lol::lol::lol:
That program can only covert to DDS DXT5 thou.
Civilization 4 BTS can read DDS DXT5 perfectly, so its not a problem.
That free program can covert over 500 image types into each other.
