The ability to get a resource you don't have. For instance lets say you don't have Bauxite Ore, so you cannot make Aluminum. And the AI is being mean and will not trade you Aluminum Wares either. But they will trade you Soda Pop. You can use the Aluminum Reclamation Plant and turn those old Soda Pop cans into Aluminum Ingots and then build an Aluminum Smith to make Aluminum Wares.

Thanks for the explanation, that makes alot of sense.

@Faustmouse

Your Gastronomy Lab has some weird stats. It should be the above. You have it require Blenders AND (Radio OR Television OR Computers OR Microwaves OR Typewriters OR Phographs). Um What?

 But sooner or later this requires a tweak in the AI to the amusing effect that Soda Pop is now a strategic resource!!! Seriously I'm afraid I don't think this works.

The other benefit of reclamation buildings ought to be reducing pollution etc., they are partial Recycling Centres after all...;)

I just forget to copy/paste them in the art folder

They might become very handy if we ever decide to implent stockpile resources and Garbage Property.

Edit:
Uhm... not in my file (and the file I have in the SVN  )
Maybe Mr Azure fixed it?

Sorry, this time I got distracted quite often when making the buildings :/

I am redoing some of the earlier Transhuman stuff I posted in Transhuman Thread because of the paramount nature of the Electricity mod , I will have some stats/descriptions for the first batch of them done tommorrow or next day. The main issue is how many power consumption those buildngs would require lol.

Downdraft Tower

- should NOT be a Wonder (and the Updraft Tower, too!) Even if they are big and seems like an unimagineable way to produce power, they are just buildings and in 50 years there might be plenty of them. Same for the Fusion Power Plant. We might want to have a Prototype Fusion Power Plant, that is a NW or WW, but later in the tree there should be more efficient Fusion Power Plants, that are normal buildings.

- Should require Concrete

- Why Factory?

Osmotic Power Plant

Seems good.

Ocean Thermal Power Plant

Also good

Jet Stream Power Plant

- I thought it'd produce more power. I haven't read that something like this is in planning, it was just an idea I had.

- Shoudl require Helium too to keep it up in air.

You can use this, https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AsZ97EvYjrFzdFdWQnBJUDNSMmR1bzhURlhyd29PLXc#gid=2
sheet 3, as template. You could write in the amount of power a building consumes. 1 MW = 1 PP

Energy Production is + and consumption is -

Then we can use Nimek's Parser to translate the google doc into XML code.

Yep. It shouldn't just be one building. I also don't understand why it's 1000 production. Why? The capacities would be similar to current power plants with the cost per kwh not orders of magnitude cheaper.

I read in the Schema that one property can modify another.

So far I have planned for discussion:

Education
Tourism
Humanity (philosophy /political)
Network (Internet/Bandwidth/Telegraph/Mail)
A.I (artificial intelligence)
Plumbing (adds Aqua)
Habilitation ( for space buildings, life support, quality of life )

Can we add
Obsidian gatherer.
Req volcano in city vicinity
Provides obsidian

I like Education, Tourism and Plumbing. The others would need some serious discussion to see if they are worthwhile. We really need to add properties with caution and slowly... they can create a lot of delay in turn times so tread with care.

Off the top, some of the Network ones look interesting even if I'm not yet convinced. AI: not sure how that would be valuable as a property.
Humanity: really waiting for a cultural spread mechanism through the 1D property proposal - I'd like to see that done before we stretch for another property in this realm.
Habilitation: May well be worthy but I think we should consider all options before leaping at the property answer.

Can we add
Obsidian gatherer.

I think this is a very good idea. Seconded.
