New Content Coming to Civilization VI Digital Deluxe Edition

I guess all those times the Americans tried to conquer us, and obviously failed, didn't count.
You mean that one border skirmish between the lumberjacks in Maine and Québec? Because I don't think that qualifies as an "invasion." ;) And Manifest Destiny was more about booting the Russians and English out of the Northwest Territories/Oregon/Washington, whatever Polk's rhetoric might have proposed. (No disrespect intended to Canada--I for one think that the US should annex British Columbia stat :p --but aside from that border skirmish in Maine and some cross-border raids in the War of 1812, the relationship between the US and Canada certainly hasn't been characterized by armed hostility of any kind. In fact, I'd say post-1815 our relationship has been quite cordial.)

I actually didn't know until recently that Sid Meier is Canadian ... how dare he never make the Canadians a civilization!

He has been waiting for the right time to include himself as a leader for Canada.
For truly, no Canadian in history is more worthy. Certainly I cannot name one.

:p

Sure sure, Americans always like to downplay their failures.

As an American, I maintain that Vietnam was a failure of spirit. It is a true example of war weariness in action, and that of a powerful military motivating a foolish presidency into acting (regardless of the advantage) in a manner in which we ought never have done. Militarily, we destroyed their forces (after the disastrous Tet offensive, they had no capable military left). In peace, we tied, as neither side gained their target (the elimination of the other). In culture and politics, we lost (as we lost the will to fight). And the last two, it seems, are all that matter.

Military victories are important and all, but they aren't everything. In the Punic Wars, Hannibal crushed the Romans at nearly every turn, and lost. In WWII, the Germans killed far, FAR more Russians than Russians killed Germans, yet they still lost. And in Vietnam, sure, the Americans had more of a kill count, but they still failed to accomplish their objectives, what they entered the war to do. That makes it a loss. I like to think of it in terms of Overwatch: sure, your team of Genjis and Hanzos got way more kills, but none of you were ever on the payload so you lost.

I just had the idea for a new DLC (not one of these)! The 'piss off America'-DLC, with whatever Canadian leader there was during that aforementioned invasion and Ho chi minh for Vietnam! :D

Or not admit to them at all. *cough*Vietnam*cough*:mischief:

We won every single battle, including the tet offensive. Yes it was a loss, but not a military loss. It was perhaps an unwinnable war, perhaps like Afghanistan today. If we had kept troops there forever (like up until this day), we could have maintained South Vietnam. But who is willing to pay that price? It will be interesting to see if the American people can stand being in Afghanistan forever. It's not the same, I know, as the Taliban is not a formidable enemy like the NVA/Vietcong, but they aren't exactly giving up either.

whatever Canadian leader there was during that aforementioned invasion
That would be Queen Victoria, and she's already in the game. ;)

The Canadian mod by Tpangolin/Colonialist Legacies used a Prime Minister as the leader, Lester Pearson.
There are other PMs they could use, MacDonald, Laurier, King...
I know how unpopular the Canadians as Civ idea is here though.

did that come out already?

Using a PM is decent enough, given that the GG is a figurehead placeholder for the figurehead of state.

I assume he's talking about the one fore Civ 5, which came out a while ago here
