Unfortunately, I don't think we'll get substantially more information today than this date we already know.
Maybe the expansion's real name, if "Vesuvius" is just a working title. (Or is "Gathering Storms" confirmed as well?)

A lot of that is high population growth combined with poor economic policy and no jobs. This has always happened in particular regions. The difference today is it's a lot easier to migrate than centuries past. In the past those people would have just died from starvation or disease.

They have to reveal something today to justify a marketing stunt on this level, IMO. The expansion name and a couple of headline features, at least, even if no actual Civs. I can't recall the R&F reveal but I don't think any Civs were named in the press release, but most of the main features were.
